    This dye house is in Chuocho, Choshi City. They use traditional Edo period techniques used to dye Japanese fisherman's celebratory kimonos known as Maiwaigi to make the maiwai-shiki tairyo bata flags flown for fishing boat launching ceremonies. These flags have been designated an official Chiba Prefecture Traditional Craft. Today they're also given as celebratory gifts. They can be made to order.
  • Inubo Station Store

    This gift shop is in Inubo Station. They sell local beer, prepared items, souvenirs, and products from Okinawa, as well as nuresenbei, a rice cracker and local specialty, the sales of which once saved Choshi Electric Rail from the bankruptcy. Besides trying fresh baked nuresenbei, you can also make them yourself by joining one of their workshops. The shop also sells items like taiyaki treats, french fries, and takoyaki octopus dumplings. You can eat your purchase at their outdoor seating area or at a standing cart.
  • Choshi Chijimi Traditional Craft Museum

    Choshi Chijimi Traditional Craft Museum is devoted to Choshi chijimi, a type of indigo-dyed cotton fabric that dates back to the Edo period (1603?1868) and has been designated a Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property. The Craft Museum exhibits and sells this textile, dealing in kimono, piece goods, handkerchiefs, purses, Western-style clothes, and other items. Visitors can also try their hand at dyeing Choshi chijimi fabric with indigo dye.
  • Choshi Dentetsu (Electric Railway)

    Choshi Electric Railway runs within the city of Choshi. It was founded in 1923 and runs from Choshi Station to Tokawa Station, with ten intermediate stations. The entire trip takes about 20 minutes. The distinguishing features of this railway are the views of cabbage fields and fishing communities that passengers can see from the window, the retro rolling stock, and the European-style station buildings. At Nakanocho Station, visitors can tour the railyards, and it is possible to rent an entire train for special occasions.
  • Sugahara Glassworks Inc. (Factory Shop)

    Sugahara Glassworks Inc. is a workshop that produces painstakingly handmade glass products. Visitors who make reservations can learn or experience different methods of glassmaking for themselves: marvering, in which 1200°C molten glass is spread over a flat surface with a spatula-like tool; pair marvering, in which two people work together; and blowing, in which the glassmaker blows into a pipe to expand the molten glass. (There is a limit to the number of participants in each course, so reservation is required.) Sugahara Glassworks also has an onsite shop, where nearly all its products are for sale, and a cafe, where visitors can enjoy sweets that are made onsite and served in glassware.

    This dolphin and whale watching tour is sponsored by the Choshi Ocean Research Institute. Depending on the season, it gives you the chance to view a variety of whales, dolphins, and fur seals that come in search of the abundant food off the Choshi coast. They also offer a cruise of the Byobugaura area.
  • Naruto Togane Carnivorous Plant Colony

    A community of plants located in a marshy lowland area sprawling from Sammu City to Togane City. Various rare plants, include eight species of carnivorous plants, grow wild across a 3.2 hectare area, and to date more than 300 species of plants have been recorded here. The community was designated one of the first Natural Monuments in Japan in 1920.

    The shrine was built in 986 and has long been worshipped as a guardian deity of fishermen and fishing boats that enter and leave the mouth of the Tone River. The shrine is located on a hill surrounded by greenery at the mouth of the Tone River and offers an attractive view of the river.

    This tourist farm cultivates grapes. The farm was created by a group of nine tourist farms. Visitors can also have fun picking their own grapes. In addition, the farm has a vineyard with a barbecue space where you can enjoy grapes along with wine or beer.

    まずタワーが古いです。 ・屋上までは460円 ・タワー内部に入っても挨拶一つない ・従業員(特に男性)が暇なのか女性従業員にちょっかいをかけており、誰かの悪口をいってるなど不快 ・眺望はまずまずですが、如何せんさびれた町と寂れたタワー故、中はボロボロ・メンテもされた様子もなし、イスも殆どなく長時間座って景色を堪能できない。 ・売店コーナーも港町ならではというものがなく、何処の売店でも買えそうなもの...

    平均よりやや大きめな道の駅。 売り場は農産物半分、その他は総菜・土産物といった割合です。 近隣で収穫されたコメが5kg2,000円以下だったので購入しました。農産物は近隣の道の駅と比較すると平均的な価格で目玉と言えるような安価なものにはお目にかかれませんでした。総菜が豊富なのでそれを購入するのが正解な気がした道の駅でした。

    たまに訪れる道の駅です。新鮮な地元の野菜が購入できるので便利ですし、土日などでも混雑していることがほぼないのでゆっくり買い物ができます。ただ、年末年始やレジャーシーズンにお休みになることがあるので、ついでではなくここを目指すならホームページなどでチェックすると良いと思います。

    千葉厄除け不動尊の中にある神社なので、厄除けと縁結びの両方が一度に叶います。縁結び大社のほうは、いくつかお社があり、順番に廻る必要があります。なんとなく全てきちんとお作法通りに廻らなければという気持ちになってしまうので、お賽銭は大目に持っていくと良いでしょう。縁結びの御守りはネットでも話題らしく、郵送もしてくれるとのことです。

    初めて訪れましたが、素晴らしいです。 牡丹の種類の構成は、なかなかセンスがあります。 満開の牡丹、芍薬などなど、十分に見応えがあります。
