    Sakekasu Shizen Kobo Fukuchan no Pan is a bakery located along the Tone Suigo Line Highway in Kozaki Honshuku in the town of Kozaki in Katori County. It makes bread dough using natural leavening derived from the sake lees that result from the sake brewing process at Terada Honke, a brewery located in Kozaki Town. It also makes and sells soy milk bread, made with soy milk from the tofu shop Tsuki no Tofu, also located in Kozaki Town.

It manufactures and sells various types of monaka filled with chunky or fine bean paste, white bean paste, yuzu-flavored bean paste using yuzu citrus harvested every year, bean paste using brown sugar or chestnuts. In addition, their bite-sized monaka are very popular even as gifts.

    ドライブがてら友人と、以前食べた事があるひと口最中を買いに行きました。道が狭い上に一方通行が多く、たどり着くまで大変でしたが、1個50円というお手頃価格で美味しい粒あんの最中が買え、行った甲斐がありました。最中は三色とも試食があり、カード決済も出来ます。

    This senbei rice cracker shop located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture is along the main Naritasan Temple approach road, and was opened in 1912, making it the oldest in Narita. You can buy senbei to eat while walking, as souvenirs or to take home. The senbei made from dough has an exquisite hardness, and you can also eat them skewered with a simple soy sauce or sweet mitarashi.

    A shop making select tofu using local Kozaki soybeans and spring water. Many of the shop’s products are so renowned they sell out early each day. In Kozaki, unaltered, heirloom soybeans are grown which are characterized by their strong fragrance and sweet flavor. Meanwhile, Kozaki spring water is rich in minerals. Tsuki no Tofu uses these and two types of nigari bittern depending on the product to create tofu with a conspicuously prominent and delicious soybean flavor.

    This is a Japanese confectionery shop, founded in 1899, located on the Omotensando Road in Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple. It is known as the shop that introduced chestnut yokan, sweet bean jelly, to Japan and the jelly was based on the vegetarian cuisine ‘chestnut soup’ of Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple. The sweet bean jellies such as the Gokujo-oozao-youkan made by traditional methods, are famous and have been loved for many years as a souvenir of pilgrims to Naritasan. The Peanuts Monaka, a sweet using peanuts, a special product of Chiba, as well as standard Japanese sweets such as kintsuba and dorayaki, and seasonal sweets are also available.

    Ive noticed each time I went to this shop that the shop assistants were not friendly. They had only one kind of yokan (mushi-yokan) for tasting. It was nice to have a tiny piece with a cup of tea...

    Shimoda Koseido Pan Chaya is a bakery and café located on the avenue that leads up to the Narita-san Shinshoji Temple in Kamicho, Narita City. Besides the bread rolls, fried bread etc. which are prepared fresh every day, Shimoda Koseido Pan Chaya also sells soufflé cakes etc. One of the bakery’s most popular products is its “eel bread,” which as the name suggests contains eel, reflecting the fact that the building that Shimoda Koseido Pan Chaya occupies used to be an eel shop.

    成田山新勝寺の参道にあったコッペパンのお店です。夕方通りかかった時、パンが安くなっていたのでそれにつられました。揚げパンとかぼちゃのロールパン、シュークリームを購入しました。シュークリームは110円(うろ覚え)で小ぶりですがシュー生地がサクッとしていて中のクリームがとっても美味しかったです。うなぎパンなる物があって成田山らしかったです。

There is a rest area within the shop, so you can enjoy some sweets or tea on the spot.
