"An eel restaurant established in 1807 which is located in Naka-cho, Kawagoe City. The restaurant is housed in a three-story wooden building built in the early Taisho period. Menu selections include eel broiled and slathered in a secret recipe sauce handed down for seven generations; a la carte eel dishes like shirayaki plain broiled eel; the ""Torikaba Sanshoku"" meal, which comes with chicken kabayaki and soboro as well as egg soboro; and eel course meals."

A traditional ryotei restaurant located in Saiwai-cho, Kawagoe City. The restaurant was established in 1868 after the owner inherited a villa which belonged to Yokota Gorobe, a wealthy merchant who built his fortune through rice wholesaling, brewing, and finance. The restaurant serves seasonal kaiseki course cuisine in private dining rooms as well as lunch on weekdays in the building's tea room. The restaurant can also be rented out for a ryotei wedding.

A buffet restaurant located in the Kawagoe Wholesale Market situated along Prefectural Route 114 in Ofukuro, Kawagoe City. The restaurant serves a shared lunch and dinner buffet style menu consisting of dishes made with local, fresh vegetables and other ingredients from Kawagoe. Certain menu selections are also only available at certain times, such as barbecue dishes only offered during dinner, and sashimi made with choice fish from the market only offered during dinner on weekends.

評判がよかったので、昼間に『予約無くても入れるか？』と確認したところ、「待つけど大丈夫ですか？」と言われたので待つのを覚悟で向かいました。が、入り口で「予約なしの方は今日は入れない」と言われ追い返されました。わざわざあんな僻地まで言ったのに笑もう二度と行くことはないですね。電話対応すらまともな教育できないとこだとわかりました。

A confectioner that first opened in 1887. Their popular Fukuzou treat has been sold for over 40 years and has sold upwards of 3.5 million units in a year. It has been certified as part of the Kawagoe Selection and as a Sai-no-Kuni Excellent Brand Product. 年始に長期で関東に滞在。青春１８きっぷを利用していた関係で、埼玉も訪問してきました。このときに川越にも訪問したのですが、「くらづくり本舗久保町本店」さんで「喜多のかけ橋」を購入。「ダックワーズ」の和風バージョンみたいな感じなのですが、軽くて持ち運びがとっても楽（笑）。食感も良くてとても美味しかったです。

Their menu includes anmitsu (a mixture of bean jam, boiled beans, agar cubes, fruit pieces and syrup), parfait, set meal with steamed foods, steamed red beans and rice, dengaku miso seasoned foods, mochi topped with grated radish and soy sauce, Kura-no-machi cider, and COEDO beer.

川越には沢山の和菓子屋がありますが、代表格として君臨する老舗。喫茶コーナーもある店舗。商品はいろいろありますが、やはり一番人気の蔵づくり最中。最中の中にお餅がしっかり入っており、最高に美味しいです。

An udon noodle shop just across the street from the Toki no Kane bell tower, the symbol of Kawagoe. This shop is well known as a great place to try Kawagoe's specialty Imo-Udon (potato udon). The exterior of the shop looks like a classic style house and the interior offers both tatami seating and counter seating in the style of a dug out lowered table. Imo-Udon is a thinner style of udon noodle made with about 20% sweet potato. They offer both Imo-Udon and handmade udon but please make sure to try the Imo-Udon.

Try the Sweet Potato Mini-Kaiseki course meal which explores a variety of tastes and textures of Kawagoe's local specialty, the sweet potato. They're also well known for their desserts including Cream Anmitsu (a mixture of bean jam, boiled beans, agar cubes, fruit pieces and syrup) and Oshiruko red bean soup. The black lacquered bar tables have matching high chairs and feature small holes on their top where you can place cups with pointed bottom and also a small cubby underneath where you can easily stash a handbag.
