- Gunma Prefecture Tone County Katashina village
- This is a lake surrounded by virgin forests on the Gunma Prefecture side of Oze National Park in Katashina Village. The lake was formed by lava flow from Mt. Nikko-Shirane damming the lake. As the water depth increases the water color changes from emerald green to indigo and the water has one of the highest degrees of transparency in Japan. The vivid contrast of the green color of the trees from early summer to summer, and the reds and yellow hues of the leaves in autumn reflecting on the lake’s surface are spectacular. The lake is also known in Japan as one of the few at an altitude 1,731 meters. There is also a campsite by lake, and visitors can enjoy canoeing experiences as well.

- Gunma Pref. Tonegunminakamimachi Fujiwara
- This reservoir was created by the construction of the Fujiwara Dam on the upper reaches of the Tonegawa River. Completed in 1959, it's the oldest in the Tonegawa River system. The multipurpose dam generates electricity, regulates the flow of water downstream, and supplies water to the capital. In spring when the snow melts you can see water being released from the dam to adjust its flow. There is a large park at the lakeside featuring an aquatic plant garden and a pond with Asian skunk cabbage. Flatwater kayaking is available at the lakeside, too. The Lake DESCENTE Fujiwara Marathon is held in summer.
