"A 24-hour rest area located close to the Nanakoshiyama kofun burial mound, a designated Important Cultural Property situated on the outskirts of Fujioka City. Interestingly, instead of a diner style restaurant typical of Japanese ""drive-in"" rest areas, the facility is filled with retro hot food vending machines which cook your food to order, and visitors can find examples of each of the ""big three"" retro hot food vending machine varieties: noodles, toast, and hamburgers. Vending machine enthusiasts travel from around the country to try these machines and the rest area has also famously been used as a shooting location for films and television dramas. The rest area's chashu noodles, made with home crafted chashu roast pork, are popular with many, even excluding the novelty of the fact they come out of a vending machine."

    レトロゲームやレトロ自販機が動態保存されている。 50歳以上は懐かしいと思えるかもしれないが、独特のヤバい雰囲気があるので。 評価はわかれるかと思います。 昭和のヤバい雰囲気が好きな人へ。

This drive-in is located along National Route 18, near the JR Shin'etsu Main Line's Yokokawa Station, approximately five minutes by car from the Joshin'etsu Expressway Matsuida-Myogi Interchange. It is managed by Oginoya, a company founded in 1958 that has been providing Yokokawa Station's lunchbox meals since its founding and is loved across the nation as the maker of Toge Kamameshi. The premises include not only Kamameshi shops, but also coffee shops and sweets corners, restaurants and convenience stores. It is the ideal place to recover from the exhaustion of traveling.
  • Tamaya Drive-In
    Transportation
    Gunma Pref. Annakashi Matsuidamachisakamoto 1011-1
This drive-in is located on Usui Pass (Entrance C4), the old National Route 18, which connects Gunma Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture. Its specialty confectionary, Sadamitsu no Chikara Mochi was the reward for young samurai when they ran the Ansei Toashi, which is said to be Japan's oldest marathon. Even now, it is handmade with the same recipe used 1,200 years ago. In addition to Koshi An which can be bought to take away, customers can also eat Karami Mochi, Goma Mochi and Kinako Mochi in the shop here. There are also magazines, photographs and videos etc. of the Abt system railroad for customers to view.

Gunma Areas

Gunma prefecture is synonymous with onsen. Natural hot spring water sources throughout the prefecture have given rise to a series of small onsen towns, each set among luscious mountains. At Kusatsu, Ikaho, and Minakami, traditional indoor and outdoor bathing experiences are served hand in hand with irresistible onsen-themed food, including steam-cooked eggs and custard pudding.
