    The Mizusawa Kanzeon is a Buddhist deity in a temple of the Tendai sect in Mizusawa, Ikaho Town, Shibukawa City. The temple was founded by the order of Empress Suiko and boasts a history of more than 1,300 years. Its principal image is a bronze statue of the eleven-faced Buddha, Juichimen Senju Kanzeon Bosatsu, rarely shown to the public and said to have miraculous powers to assist all those who pray to her. The Mizusawa Temple is the 16th in the Bando 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, a pilgrimage circuit of 33 Buddhist temples in Eastern Japan.

    渋川方面から行くと伊香保温泉手前にあります。馬にヤギ、羊にウサギと触れあえます。入場料の他に、餌やりようの野菜などにちょこちょこと掛かります。一部ペイペイで支払い可能でした。ウサギのふれあいは時間が決まってました。 乗馬体験やアーチェリーもあり小学校高学年でも楽しめたようです。大人からすると入場料は少し高いかな。

    The Akagi-jinja Shrine is located at the top of Mt. Akagi. It has been known as a mountain where gods have resided since ancient times. Mt. Akagi is the main enshrined deity and Akagi Daimyojin is worshiped as the god of the lake. On the first Saturday of August, the Soke, or Grand Master, in charge of Ogasawara style Japanese horseback archery etiquette and his disciples hold a Japanese archery dedicatory match. At night, paper lanterns are set adrift in a ceremony called Toronagashi accompanied by a firework display and every year many tourists visit the festival. The Autumn Festival held on the national Sports day in October is also very popular.

    This roadside station is located on National Route 17 (Koizawa Bypass), in Shiroijuku, which prospered as the castle town of Shiroi Castle, approximately 10 minutes from the Kan’etsu Expressway Shibukawa Ikaho Interchange. The restaurant’s Katsudon Rice Bowl, made with tender Joshu pork, and the Akagi Beef Croquettes are recommended. The local produce center’s freshly picked local vegetables, original side dishes and specialty Konjac are also popular. The footbath can also be used free of charge on weekends and national holidays. In the spring, double-flowered cherry trees blossom on the roadside, and the Shiroijuku double-flowered cherry festival brings excitement with its samurai parade and festival stalls.

    The Gunma Prefectural Government Building is located in Otemachi Town 1 Chome, Maebashi City and features an observation hall on the 32nd floor. From this floor, 127-meters above the ground, you can look out over the city, Tonegawa River, Mt. Haruna, and more and enjoy the beautiful view of the setting sun and the nightscape. On the 31st floor there's a restaurant that serves both Japanese and European cuisine.

    From the top floor you can see norhtern parts of Kanto-Heiya near Maebashi and great mountains including Asama and Tanigawa, which may covered by snow.

    A modern Japanese-style wooden building located in Ote-machi, Maebashi City. The main building and tea house are prefecturally-designated Important Cultural Properties, while the annex is designated an Important Cultural Property by the city of Maebashi. The main building was constructed as a reception hall in 1884, while the drawing room-style annex was built in 1910 for hosting noble visitors. The tea house, built in 1884, thoroughly incorporates Japanese “wabi” design principles and is constructed in the thatched hut style. In addition to being used for events, the Rinkokaku’s facilities may be used for taking wedding photos and other photography purposes with an advance application. There is a store on the first floor of the annex selling local Maebashi souvenirs and other goods.

    This roadside station is located on National Route 353 at the southern foot of Mt. Akagi, approximately 20 minutes from the Kan’etsu Expressway Akagi Interchange. At GreenFlower Stock Farm, with its large landmark Dutch windmill, visitors can spend time with cows, sheep, ponies and other animals, play on the roller slide and other playground and athletic equipment, and also enjoy camping in the bungalows. The Rest House Makiba restaurant’s generous servings of slow-cooked Motsuni Set Meals are popular, and there is also a direct sales outlet that sells local agricultural products and flowering trees and shrubs.

    A memorial hall dedicated to the painter Yumeji Takehisa and situated on the Jomo-Sanzan Panorama Highway heading east from the onsen resort in Ikaho, Ikaho Town. The memorial hall displays Yumeji Takehisa’s pieces of work and artifacts in a number of different buildings including the Taisho Romantic Hall which resembles a warehouse, the Kurofunekan which was built to commemorate the donation of Yumeji’s masterpiece, Kurofuneya, and the Giyamanrou which displays Japanese glass from the Edo to Taisho periods. There is also a café where you can get a sense of the Taisho Roman style, and a museum shop.

    This roadside station on National Route 17 overlooks the clear stream of the Tone River and Mt. Akagi. Visitors can enjoy an open-air spa bath in the day use facility “Rivertopia Yoshioka”, as well as local dishes from the restaurant such as the “Grilled Shinshu Pork and Ginger Set” and “Okkirikomi” (noodles and vegetables cooked in soup). Local fresh produce, handmade lunch boxes and local popular breads etc. are available at the “Bussankan Kazaguruma” market. Sports such as golf, tennis and cycling etc. can be enjoyed at the nearby Yoshioka Town Green Area Sports Park. There is also an EV charging station.

    The Ikaho Checkpoint, now a small museum, is situated on the right hand side of the Ikaho Stone Steps which leads up to Ikaho Shrine in Ikaho, Ikaho Town. The restored checkpoint was an important point during the Edo period on the so called Mikuni Highway back road which goes to Nakayamajuku via Ikaho. The museum now exhibits artifacts relating to the time when it was in use.

The theme park has the largest dog park in Japan, and is equipped with a foot-washing area and exclusive pool.     This museum, located along the Jomo-Sanzan Panorama Road in Ikaho, Ikaho Town, is dedicated to Meiji-period writer Roka Tokutomi. In addition to permanent exhibits featuring various personal artifacts and materials belonging to Roka Tokutomi, whose famed work “Hototogisu” is the source of the Ikaho Ropeway station name, there are also planned exhibits and tea ceremony events held in the writer’s honor, among other events.

    明治から大正にかけて活躍した小説家徳富蘆花の文学館です。伊香保を愛し、臨終の地とした、徳富蘆花に関する多くの資料の展示があります。蘇峰との和解の件等は戦前文学マニアにはたまらないですね。

    This small roadside station is located approximately 20 minutes from the Kan’etsu Expressway Shibukawa Ikaho Interchange, on National Route 353, which runs East-West parallel to the Agatsuma River in the center of Gunma Prefecture. It is near the entrance to the Agatsuma hot spring district, and many guests of Kusatsu Hot Spring and Shima Hot Spring also visit the roadside station. There is a direct sales outlet for farms, which sells fresh, local vegetables, dishes and homemade items, as well as a restaurant where local housewives work making meals. The direct sales outlet’s Maitake mushrooms and its apple pie are recommended. The restaurant’s Tempura and mixed rice and handmade soba with pickles are also very popular.

    お土産購入のために利用いたしました。よくありそうな道の駅といった感じで地元の特産物などが販売されておりました。野菜は新鮮そうでしたが、サービスエリアでも購入できそうなものばかりでした。

    This famous cherry blossoming spot is in Naegashima-machi, Maebashi City. Approximately 1,000 cherry trees run 1.3 kilometers north to south along both sides of the street, and at peak season they form a gorgeous cherry blossom arch. It's been chosen as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites and places annually on other lists of the best places to see them too. Miyagi Senbonzakura no Mori Park opened off this road in 2013 and has over 500 cherry trees of different varieties.

    Located a 20-minute drive from the Honjo-Kodama Interchange on the Kan-Etsu Expressway, this structure is part of the Tomioka Silk Mill and Related Sites World Heritage listing registered on June 25, 2014. Included in the World Heritage listing alongside the Tomioka Silk Mill, Takayama-sha Sericulture School, and Arafune Cold Storage, this building was the starting point for the development of modern cold air flow silkworm raising and silkworm farm architecture. The structure, however, is still used as a private home and visitors may only view the garden.
