A theme park located in Omae-hosohara, Tsumagoi Village, you’ll find plenty of attractions here, including the “Toy Room Area,” which is filled with toys from across all eras, the “Nature Athletic Area,” which utilizes Karuizawa’s natural scenery to provide entertainment, and the “Attraction Area,” which has something for children of all ages. If you have a free pass, you can get a discount on Hotel Green Plaza Karuizawa’s lunch buffet and hot spring, which makes this a great option for a day trip.

It’s perfect weather, by all means. Sunny, calm, as anybody can see, as any app online said. Yet the largest attraction (Kids Adventure) is closed, because the staff thinks it’s windy. There’s no...

    Gunma Pref. Shibukawashi Kanai 2843-3
This theme park is located in Kanai, Shibukawa City. You can enjoy a view of the Kanto Basin and surrounding mountains from the 50-meter-tall ferris wheel, and there’s also a rollercoaster, merry-go-round, the “Alaska Land Ice Hall” where you can experience minus 30-degree temperatures, and several other attractions.

    Gunma Pref. Maebashishi Otemachi 3-16-3
Founded in 1954, the self-designated “most nostalgic park in Japan” is an amusement park located in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The park runs fondly remembered rides of old, including a merry-go-round, a choo-choo train, and an airplane tower, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The wooden horse stable runs five automated horse rides that are Registered Tangible Cultural Properties. Entrance is free. The large rides cost 50 yen, while the wooden horse rides, popular with local children, are 10 yen.

All the rides are cheap and are good for families with young kids as other reviewers indicated, probably good for around 5yrs old. Went there on a weekday, pretty much empty, spent around an hour and...

    Gunma Kiryu-shi Miyamotocho 4-1-1
Kiryugaoka Amusement Park is a family-friendly fun park in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. Admission is free. It has tons of attractions that kids love like a Ferris wheel that overlooks the city, a merry-go-round, a saucer ride, and a mini train. There is also a free zoo on the premises where you can see various animals.

Gunma Prefecture Ota City Shizukazukacho 3320
"This theme park is located 10 minutes’ walk from the Tobu Ryomo Line’s Yabuzuka Station. It was based on the artist Saho Sasazawa’s historical play, ""Kogarashi Monjiro"". The park recreates the lead character, Jiro’s hometown of Mikazukimura, Nitta County, Joshu, and the scenery with its fire lookout towers and water mills is just as it would have been in the Edo Period. There are also attractions which can be enjoyed by people too young to know what they are, such as the House of Tricks with complicated mechanisms in each room, and the Kaigendo, in which visitors explore the dark underground."

Takayama village, Agatsuma-gun, Gunma prefecture 5583-1
This stone theme park is located in Takayama Village, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture, symbolized by the “Lock Heart Castle” —the first European castle in Japan, moved here from Scotland. In the streets made to look like medieval Europe, you’ll find a stone church, shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and a unique atmosphere. You can even “become a princess” with a dress and tiara for pictures. This area is often used for weddings, TV shoots, and other events.

Gunma Areas

around-area-map

Gunma prefecture is synonymous with onsen. Natural hot spring water sources throughout the prefecture have given rise to a series of small onsen towns, each set among luscious mountains. At Kusatsu, Ikaho, and Minakami, traditional indoor and outdoor bathing experiences are served hand in hand with irresistible onsen-themed food, including steam-cooked eggs and custard pudding.
