    This soba restaurant is located in 2 Chome, Tori, Ashikaga City. They serve hand-made nihachi-soba noodles. They're made with a high-quality mix of 80 percent buckwheat to 20 percent udon flour and spring water from the Watarase Mountains. They also typically have over 100 kinds of sake available. Enjoy some with fare like their Tennuki gozen soba noodle set that comes with candied herring and tempra in a hot soup for an old-school soba-shop experience. The shop's also known for its ties to the poet Mitsuo Aida through his relationship with the first owner.

    あしかが美人とは、地元足利市の農家の方が丹精込めて育てた野菜を使用したコラボ料理のことです。 頂いたのは、コラボメニューのにしんそば御前1900円です。 にしんは上品な甘露煮、そしてトマトとゆずの香りがとても良く、また、お蕎麦だけではなく、炊き込みご飯とわらび餅も付く、お得なセットです。

    This old shop was founded as an oil shop during the Edo period, but then went on to manufacture miso. They use domestically-produced soy beans to make their “aburaden miso” —naturally fermented in a traditional wooden barrel, with no additives, to produce a rich, aromatic taste. At the dengaku miso shop in the corner, you can try konnyaku dengaku, tofu dengaku, and sato-imo dengaku. The five buildings, including a Meiji-period storehouse, are designated as National Tangible Cultural Properties, as well as a charming fireplace in the back.

    何とも趣のある歴史を感じさせる建物でした。味噌田楽盛り合わせ(3本セットで550円）をいただきました。炭で時間をかけて焼いています。味の異なる味噌が3本それぞれにつけられています。 建屋の中も歴史そのもの。太い梁が何本も見られ、大正あるいは明治時代（？）の電話もそのまま。囲炉裏も。 歴史のある雰囲気に身をおきながら、落ち着いたひとときを過ごしました。

The “irodori gozen” —a nine-item set of sashimi, grilled items, small bowls, and the famous “kanahan tokusei-don” are popular. Only available by reservation, the “Edo gozen” features an assortment of Edo-period and modern cuisine.

    This restaurant is located inside Subanazaka Park, a nature park on the Subanazaka Hill. Situated near the central starting point for the park's hiking courses, here customers can enjoy handmade soba noodles made with an abundance of local buckwheat flour. The restaurant's traditional flavors, prepared by local housewives, are perfect for enjoying after a nature hike. The restaurant's manju steamed buns, which are made by hand starting from the filling, are also highly acclaimed. The surrounding area is a famous destination for viewing Genji fireflies, and when the fireflies appear in June, a variety of locally-operated food stalls also open up nearby. There's also the Hikoma-Sengen Hiking Trails, along which you can see flowering plants such as Asian skunk cabbages, eastern skunk cabbages, dogtooth violets, and azaleas.

    台風19号で甚大な被害を受けた佐野市大橋町にあるスシローですが、全く普通に営業してます。回転寿司は気軽にサクッと食べるのにいいですね。

    回転レーンのないオールオーダー型店舗の魚べい。ネット予約で待ち時間が少ないのが魅力。高速レーンで届けてくれる分、同価格帯のスシローよりも個人的には魚べいの方が良いです。

    メニュー写真はカニ2本ですが、一貫で1本しか乗っていません。係に確認も、写真は1本を半分にスライスして乗せていますので一貫に1本で間違いないとの事、一貫¥270でそれはないでしょう。

    東北道佐野インターの街道筋の佐野プレミアムアウトレットとイオンに挟まれた好立地にあるこちらのお店、初めて利用しましたが同じ回転すしのスシローなどと比べるとシャリが少なくてネタもあまりよくなくておいしくありませんでした。

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys.
