    This Edo-period theme park is located in Karakura, Nikko City. You’ll find authentic-feeling replicas of everything from merchant district to warrior homes, ninja villages, and many other areas inspired by Edo-period townscapes. There’s a facility where visitors can dress up as Edo-period townspeople and warriors, as well as a playhouse, restaurant, and Edo artisanal experiences, allowing them to truly feel like they’re in the Edo period. Many seasonal events are held as well.

    Very good place. Who like samurai and ninja must visit here. Very recommended place to visit. You can change your clothes to become ninja or samurai or etc.

    You’ll find this theme park in Kinugawaonsen-ohara, Nikko City along National Route 121. There’s an exhibit featuring miniature versions of 102 famous structures throughout the world, including 46 World Heritage Sites, built at 1/25 the size. In addition to photo opportunities, you’ll find full-scale Statue of Liberty footprints and other features that allow you to compare the size of the miniature replicas.

    This theme park is located in Takakuhei, Nasu Town. There are nine huge coasters inside as well as a large Ferris wheel, the six-level “MeGaMo” solid maze building, and an assortment of other amusement options. There’s also a mountain stream activity zone, a dog park, and more. In addition, you’ll find a food court, barbecue terrace area, restaurants, shops, and other facilities.

    The Bandai Museum, located in Mibu Town, Shimotsuga County, Tochigi Prefecture, has life size statues of Gundam in its entrance hall. The facility is divided into four themed museums: Japanese Toys, from the Edo period to present day; the World Toys museum displaying historically significant toys; the Edison Collection; and a must-see collection for fans, the Gundam Collection. The museum has an enclosure for children to play, and can be enjoyed by all, children both small and grown.

    This massive 3,500 square-meter maze is located in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. There, visitors can earn prizes by completing a time trial or participate in a stamp rally inside of the maze. Due its location near attractions like Tobu World Square and Edo Wonderland, many tourists and families with children visit the maze.

    Really fun maze. My daughter and I finished in about 40 minutes. She is 7 years old and had a blast. Not scary.

    The Tochinoki Family Land is an amusement park for children located inside the Tochigi Sports Park. Entrance is free. The park is packed with attractions such as the thrilling rollercoaster designed to look like the E5 model Hayabusa Bullet Train, the sky ship, merry-go-round, and a big Ferris wheel. On weekends there are shows and street performers, and many more events.

    This buggy activity facility is located in Yumoto, Nasu Town. Visitors six-years-old and older can enjoy activities on the circuit track. There’s also an “Adventure Cruise” where a staff member leads visitors on a ride down a forest road through the vast natural surroundings (you can ride together as well). There are also two-person buggies popular with couples as well as parents and their children.

    This is a historical theme park located in the Yunishigawa Onsen area of Nikko City, and is a recreated folk village to show the community lifestyle of the Heike’s ochiudo (defeated Heike people). Inside, the park is divided up into thatched-roof homes relocated from other areas, displays about folk-cultural properties such as tools with bamboo ladles as well as the genealogy and armor of the Heike, and places to purchase sweets and souvenirs. “Tochi mochi” and “oshiruko” are popular sweets featuring the Heike ochiudo flavors. During the “Heike Big Festival” in June, a procession of historical figures which look as though they were in a Heike picture scroll parade down a distance of nearly two kilometers.

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys. Neighboring Oku-Nikko is an extension of the fantastic scenery famous for its autumn leaves, while Tochigi’s capital, Utsunomiya, is the only place in the world where you can find oya stone beautifully exhibited in temples and the Oya History Museum.
