    Tsukuba Wanwan Land is a large-scale interactive zoo where you can pat the animals. A landmark is Mokkun, an 11-meter high wooden statue which is a dog-shaped observatory. Dogs are the main attraction, and there are about 500 dogs from 90 breeds. You can pat your favorite dog as well as experience walking with it. In addition to dogs, there is a building which houses cats only and an area which you can pat small animals so you can experience interacting with a wide range of animals. Entry with your pet dog is available. Your dog can use a dog run, and there are events in which it can participate.

    Located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, this botanical garden is a part of the National Museum of Nature and Science, fully utilizing its position amid the rich nature at the southern base of Mt. Tsukuba, 7,000 species of plants—tropical and temperate—from Japan and around the world are cultivated here. General visitors can see roughly 3,000 of them. The garden is divided into nine sections, like evergreens, shrubs, aquatic plants, etc., and features three greenhouses recreating environments like the savannah and the tropical rainforest. You can see many rare foreign plants here.

    It is a gem of a place. Located near to Tsukuba University,bit is quiet and serene. If you plan to eat/picnic here, you need to bring your own food.

    This historic park is located in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It features an observatory platform modeled to look like the head of a shishi (lion), a public square with a playground, and a waterfront park for enjoying flowers in all seasons, including cherry blossoms.     A park erected on the site of the Expo '85 international exposition. The 10-meter tall Kagaku no Mon gate commemorates the expo; modeled after the symbol tower of the Japanese government's exposition hall, it was built to one fourth scale of the original. The silver balls suspended inside the gate depict the faces of four famous scientists, depending on the angle of the viewer. The park is also a renowned destination for cherry blossoms, and in spring some 300 Yoshino cherries come into bloom on the grounds.

The aquarium's diverse facilities include a panoramic tank where visitors can watch char and Japanese huchen swimming, and round tanks which make it possible to view the occupants from 360 degrees. The aquarium is designed to teach visitors who walk through it about the ecosystem of Kasumigaura. The aquarium also holds events like giving visitors the chance to feed tortoises. The aquarium is perfect for families with children as well.

    This forest park in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture was created as part of a project to establish areas for making use of nature for local residents and was opened in 1990. Nature observers are permanently stationed in the park who provide the latest information on what's happening on its grounds. From plants to animals, visitors can come in contact with nature in the park in a variety of ways, including the park's centrally located Nature Center and its animal exhibits and activity corner, a beech (chinquapin) forest, owl forest, and Japanese hare hill. The Nature Center loans out binoculars and magnifying glasses and also holds events such as birdwatching and animal care classes for children.

    A history museum adjoining Kijo Park (Tsuchiura Castle ruins) 10 minutes from the Tsuchiura-kita or Sakura-tsuchiura interchanges on the Joban Expressway. The first floor of the museum is dedicated to the culture of the Tsuchiya clan, the clan which once rules the area, and includes displays of swords and tea ceremony implements owned by the clan. The second floor looks at local life as it has been supported by Lake Kasumigaura and introduces the history and culture of Tsuchiura. The museum changes the contents of its exhibits on a seasonal basis and also holds special exhibitions. There's also an interactive learning space in the second-floor exhibition hall.

Opened as an annex of the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki, the museum primarily holds solo and group exhibitions. Aiming to make it possible for people of all ages to come in contact with art in a variety of ways, the museum has a lecture room and video library in addition to its exhibition space. The museum also holds Saturday lectures conducted by curators in the prefecture in which participants can hear what they have learned through study and experience as well as their unique stories. In addition, there's a cafe and museum shop which carries exhibition catalogs.

    夏に友達とのバーベキューに利用しました。バーベキューグリルはアメリカサイズの大きいものからウェーバーという丸型のグリルまであり設備が美女に整っていました。また、軍手や台ふきん、や冷蔵庫など無料で貸し出しをしてくれたので助かりました。場所代として一人1000円くらいなので安いと思いました。

A soba noodle making class is offered in the activity hall for a small fee and there's also a rest area from which visitors can take in the vast, beautiful scenery of the area. The facility is also adjoined by a farm-fresh shop, cafe, and the Salon Komachi restaurant, which serves Hitachi Aki soba noodles.

    This park, located about a 40-minute drive from the Chiyoda Ishioka Interchange or the Tsuchiura Kita Interchange off of the Joban Highway, has many various facilities. It not only has been designated as a Suigo-Tsukuba Quasi-National Park, but is also one of the Top 100 Ibaragi Sights, and the Top 100 Nature Scenes of Ibaragi Castle. Inside the park is an observatory from which a panoramic view of Lake Kasumigaoka, the second largest in Japan, can be enjoyed. The park has an aquarium, a history museum, the Ayumian meeting area, a garden of historic dwellings, a forested garden area as well as a lake-side shore area that is popular with families. The aquarium fosters not only the fresh water fish that swim in the Lake Kasumigaura, but also the seemingly phantom fresh water ito fish of the salmon family.

    歩崎公園は水郷筑波国定公園の一部で、帆引き船発祥の地にある公園です。園内には、かすみがうら市交流センターや小さな水族館もあります。無料駐車場があるので、霞ヶ浦を眺めながらくつろげる場所です。
