The Oarai Isosaki Jinja is a shrine in Oarai Town, Higashiibaraki County, Ibaraki Prefecture, that venerates Ohonamuchi-no-mikoto and Sukunahikona-no-mikoto. The worship hall for the presiding god—a protector of domestic safety and safe naval passage—demonstrates the architectural style of early Edo period, and has been designated a prefectural cultural property. Also, the Kamiiso torii gate praised by Mitsukuni Tokugawa is first among big torii in the Kanto region, and is set on rocks in the sea, for a great view during sunrise and sunset. Shrine worship deals with the ocean, so the Oarai Sea Museum is located nearby.

This 60-meter-tall symbolic tower in Oarai Town, Higashiibaraki County, Ibaraki Prefecture was opened in 1988. At 55 meters above ground, the observatory deck offers you a grand panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, Nikko Nasu Mountains, Mt. Tsukuba, and Mt. Fuji. The tower interior includes souvenir shops, a marine theater, and a cafe themed on “Girls und Panzer” —an anime set in Oarai.

This science museum, Japan's only one dedicated to nuclear power, is situated along National Route 245 an 18-minute drive from the Hitachi-minami Ota Interchange on the Joban Expressway. The museum contains exhibits which introduce the foundations behind atoms and nuclear energy. Visitors can directly look at, touch, and interact with the things they are learning about through exhibits such as a big screen theater showing computer generated videos and the world's largest cloud chamber, which makes it possible to see the natural radiation that is around us at all times. In addition, exhibits on incidents such as the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the Tokaimura nuclear accident convey safe ways of utilizing radiation to future generations.

    エネルギーとしての原子力に関しての展示は少ないです。一番おもしろかったのは空港のX線検査装置ですね。実物を操作できて、こんな風に映るのかと感心しきりでした。見学の所要時間としては1時間あれば十分ですね。

A museum located on the grounds of Oarai Isosaki Shrine in Isohama-cho, Oarai Town, Higashiibaraki County. Both the Shinto deities honored at the shrine and the nearby land they're thought to protect are closely tied to the ocean and the fishing industry. As such, the museum was conceived as an education facility that works to raise awareness of and interest in Japan's role as a maritime country. Specimens on display depict the evolution of marine life from protozoa to whales.

"A historic structure located next to Numao Shrine a 10-minute walk from the ""Takedahoncho"" bus stop. Takeda Ward in Hitachinaka City is where the Kai Takeda clan, the clan of the famous samurai lord Takeda Shingen, is believed to have originated. This residence for the Takeda clan is said to have been built near the location of the home of the progenitor of the clan-Minamoto no Yoshikiyo who, along with his son Kiyomitsu, was banished to Kai Province and took up the name ""Takeda"" after the name of the local area. The current residence is a reconstruction built in the early shoin-zukuri style as would have been used by the Takeda clan in the Kamakura period when they were a powerful local family. Inside the residence are exhibits such as a Takeda family tree, mannequins dressed in samurai costumes, and period arms and armor."
