    Ibaraki Pref. Tsukubashi Tsukuba
An 877 meter tall mountain located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture which has two peaks—Nantai-san and Nyotai-san (“men's body” and “female body,” respectively). Due to the color the mountain takes on in the morning and at dusk, it is also known as “Violet Peak,” and has been popularly worshipped as a sacred mountain since ancient times. Over 1,000 varieties of plants grow on the mountain, and visitors can enjoy the sight of various plant lives here throughout the year. A cable car and ropeway provide convenient access to the top of the mountain, making it easy even for children and senior citizens to enjoy the beautiful view. On Saturday, Sunday, and holiday evenings from October to the end of February (excluding during bad weather, the New Year's holidays, and safety inspections), visitors can ride the ropeway as part of a special “Stardust Cruising” event and take in the beautiful nightscape of the surrounding area.

"Crafthills Kasama is located in Kasama Geijutsunomori Park, around 10 minutes' drive via National Route 355 from the Tomobe Interchange of the Kita-Kanto Expressway. At Crafthills Kasama, visitors can enjoy making their own Kasama-ware ceramics. Based around the concept of ""moving beyond ceramics that you can look at to ceramics that you can have fun with,"" Crafthills Kasama offers electric potter's wheel experience activities, hand-thrown pottery experience activities, and ceramics painting experience activities, etc. For those with a more serious interest in ceramics, Crafthills Kasama runs a Ceramics School that can help would-be ceramists progress from beginner to having solid ceramics-making skills. Other popular craft experience activities include silver clay art making, where participants can learn how to make unique silver accessories from silver clay. There is also a permanent exhibition of ceramic art, and special seasonal exhibitions."

The 10-meter tall Kagaku no Mon gate commemorates the expo; modeled after the symbol tower of the Japanese government's exposition hall, it was built to one fourth scale of the original. The silver balls suspended inside the gate depict the faces of four famous scientists, depending on the angle of the viewer. The park is also a renowned destination for cherry blossoms, and in spring some 300 Yoshino cherries come into bloom on the grounds.

This shrine is located in Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture. From the teaching that one will be granted a fortune once in one’s life, this shrine is famous for the deity that grants a requested prayer, even if it is just spoken once. Hence the Hitokoto Myojin, meaning One Word Deity. Constructed in 809 A.D., many visit this spot year round. One of the few shrines visited at New Years, it attracts around 150,000 visitors annually during the 3 celebrated days of New Year, during which many booth shops line the entry way.

Tsukuba cable car established in 1925 is a historic cable car which was the 2nd earliest cable car to operate in Kanto and the 5th earliest in Japan. It connects the 1,643 meters between Miyawaki Station half way up Tsukubasan (305 meters above sea level) and Tsukubasancho Station (800 meters above sea level) in about eight minutes. From its windows, you can gaze at seasonal plants and flowers, and it is a perfect place for foliage especially in fall. The view from the peak is magnificent, and you can see Tokyo Skytree in the distance.

There's also the so-called ""grotto bath,"" perfume bath, and more. The bathhouse also has a restaurant serving seafood rice bowls, set meals, and seasonal dishes, as well as a rest area to relax in after your bath. In addition, the bathhouse offers robe and towel rentals."
