    A Japanese restaurant established in 1903 located a 20-minute walk from the north exit of Mito Station on the JR Joban Line. The restaurant serves monkfish, a delicate variety of seafood whose flavor can easily become off if not extremely fresh, paying great attention to the freshness and preparation methods used. Menu selections include monkfish nabe hotpot, vinegared monkfish, and monkfish sashimi, a particular rarity. The restaurant also serves gozen meals which include dishes like tempura made with natto fermented beans from Mito, and squid and natto; as well as traditional kaiseki course meals made with seasonal ingredients such as Hitachi beef and common orient clams from the Kashima Sea.

    水戸市ではあんこう鍋のお店がたくさん並んでいます。一度試せばいいと思ってここにしました。食べ方がよくわからなかったが、スタッフが変わりにやってくれるので、大丈夫です。アン肝が塊のまま食べれると期待していましたが、形のないものですぐに溶けてしまいました。ちょっと残念。 旅の思い出として食べてもいいですが、一度で十分という考え方もあります。安くはないよ。

In addition, because of its location in the city home to the Kashima Antlers J1 League team, the shop sells a soccer ball-shaped cake perfect for giving as a present or for taking a picture to upload to an SNS. The shop has a restaurant which serves pastas, curry, and stewed Western-style dishes for lunch at reasonable prices.

The restaurant makes its vaunted noodles with flour stone milled on the premises using primarily Hitachi Aki buckwheat. The ""Gentei Seiro"" noodles are particularly popular. The noodles are made with flour from a specially contracted farm in the nearby city of Hitachiomiya. The ""Momijiya Set"" meal, which includes an assortment of tempura and piping hot tofu, is particularly popular. The restaurant also offers tofu blancmange and sweet potato yokan jelly for dessert.     3年ぶりの規制なしのGW、川崎からロングドライブで大渋滞に悪戦苦闘しながら、ひたちなかの海浜公園に二人で出かけました。帰りに古橋亭でディナーを頂きました。お客は少なめでしたが、頂いたお任せの5000円コースは良い材料を丁寧に料理されているのが良くわかり、味や見た目も良くとてもおいしく頂きました。久々のコース料理、大満足です。

    広くて明るくて湖に面しているカフェ。ハンバーグステーキを注文しました。味が良かったが、野菜とご飯が少なくてちょっとお腹が空いたままここを去りました。出さた飲み水はなぜかトイレのような匂いでした。別に用意された果物のスライス入りの水をもらったら、大丈夫でした。天気さえよければ、もっと周りの景色を楽しめたはずです。満腹になれなかったのは残念なので、評価を一点下げました。

While taking in the seasonal beauty of the area, diners can enjoy dishes such as oden stew flavored with miso, Japanese pepper, and yuzu; kenchin soba noodles dipped in a miso soup filled with vegetables; kon'nyaku devil's tongue jelly served sashimi style and dengaku style broiled with miso. Beverages on offer include iced coffee and iced green tea made with spring water. The restaurant also offers several desserts, like mitsumame jelly cubes and fruit.

    袋田の滝の橋を渡った先、出口方面の途中にある食堂です。川沿いの席に座ると、袋田の滝の下の方が見渡せます。紅葉の時期に行きましたが、風情があります。注文したのはつけそばで、薬味が紅葉の上にのっているなど、いきな感じです。出てきたお茶も、薬膳ぽいものでした。混雑している袋田の滝見学から、一服できる場所です。
