    Fukushima Kitakata-shi Umetake 7294-4
This brick-built art museum stands out in the Kitakata urban area. Found across from the city hall, it has a collection of about 700 pieces of art carefully collected by local farm and merchant families. The gallery extends from the first to third floors, and offers a chance to see pottery from private collections, lacquerware from Aizu and the rest of Japan, paintings and calligraphic work, and more. The Imari ware collection, which ranges from the Edo period to modern work, is a must see. There are many other items well worth seeing such as the Makie collection and the maps of the Aizu Wakamatsu castle town.
