- A restaurant which has stood in the commercial district not far from Aizuwakamatsu Castle since 1971. The restaurant’s vaunted soba noodles are a select gem made with Aizu gen-soba buckwheat ground in the restaurant’s own factory. The restaurant’s yumemi soba noodles, served simply in just a bowl of the miraculous waters of Mt. Iide, are so delicious, diners are encouraged to start with an order of them. Kiriya Gongentei is also notable for its barrier free efforts, and in spite of its old fashioned Japanese home exterior, any differences in levels between rooms have been removed and there is an elevator which can accommodate wheelchairs providing access to the second floor.

仕事で会津に滞在中、昼食に行きました。 場所は鶴ヶ城公園の北東、県立博物館に隣接しています。郡山からのバスも近くに停車、官庁街も近いので店内には観光客のほかビジネスマンまでいました。 天ざるを注文している方が多かったですが、私はとろろざるを注文しました。蕎麦は白い蕎麦でした。蕎麦湯もつけてくれ、おいしかったです。

It is located about a five-minute-drive from Lake Inawashiro, and serves soba noodles using Kowashimizu (famous water from Aizu) that have been loved by locals since long ago. The soup base, a specialty of the restaurant with its rich broth, is a perfect match for the smooth soba noodles. Their stone-milled soba noodles made from local indigenous buckwheat have a rich flavor and are highly fragrant. Their ""manju no tempura,"" homemade deep-fried manju buns served with soy sauce, is a specialty that has been popular for over 100 years. There are also many tourists who come to buy souvenirs."

Located in a renovated kominka (old house) with high ceilings they serve soba noodles made with stone milled buckwheat using power of a water wheel. They serve 100% pure buckwheat soba noodles that are freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled showing off the true green color of the soba. They only make as many noodles as was flour ground that morning and their soba isn't boiled until your order is placed. The slow speed of the water wheel prevents the buckwheat from heating allowing it to retain its natural fragrance. You can enjoy the fresh flavor of their recommended zaru soba with their three different original dipping sauces.
