    Koriyama Ishimuro Fureai Ranch is a tourist farm located in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture. This is a large farm covering an area of 20 hectares. It has a petting zoo where visitors can interact with horses, sheep, ponies, rabbits, etc., a “target bird golf course,” a barbecue area, a paddling pool area, cycle paths, and a farm shop selling ice cream and other dairy products made on the Ranch, etc. Koriyama Ishimuro Fureai Ranch attracts visitors of all ages, particularly families.

    入場料が安く(300円:大人)楽しめる場所です。 冬は閉園となるため、閉園前に訪れました。家畜動物とはいえ、やはり動物と触れ合える環境、ステキです。癒されました。

    An art museum adjoining Roadside Station Aizu Yanaizu in Yanaizu Town, Kawanuma County, Fukushima Prefecture. The museum displays works by Aizu-born print artist Kiyoshi Saito. The museum also contains works depicting Japan's ancient capitals of Kyoto and Kamakura as well as natural scenes. There's also a video corner and museum shop.

    Ever since its grand opening in May of 2017, this facility has been a symbol of the region’s recovery. With over a million visitors in just five months, its appeal is evident. You can purchase original Kunimi products, general food items, fresh local vegetables, and fruits, and six-sector industrialization products, among which are included items produced in Fukushima and famous brand-name products and souvenirs. It’s about a 12-minute walk from JR Fujita Station.

    "This venerable soy sauce and miso maker dates back to the Edo period. They've used all-natural local ingredients ever since their founding in 1755, making miso and soy sauce that can be eaten with peace of mind. The corner shop has a modern Western design that uses the same ornamental tiles as the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Behind it there are still eight old warehouses used to store materials and tools. The shop's flagship ""Wakaki Tennen Jozo Shoyu"" soy sauce is made from local soybeans fermented in wooden tanks and aged for two years. It offers a traditional aromatic flavoring for sushi and sashimi."

    郡山駅からタクシーで約10分。あまり期待していなかったのだけど、尋常中学校の建物がそのまま保存されていて、教室の机、黒板、当時の教科書や文書まで保存されていてびっくり。壁だけは震災で崩れたので再生したそうですが、床や階段などはそのまま。期待以上でした。ただし、冬は暖房がないのでかなり寒いです。春、秋などに訪れることをお勧めします。

The figure is specially revealed during the annual festivals in spring and fall, attracting many visitors.

    ヘンリー・ムーアの作品がエントランスで待っていました。せっかくですので、企画展を含めての入場料を払います。地元の作家さんの力作を見ることができました。展示数が多くも少なくもなく、鑑賞しても疲れません。いい美術館です。

Located at the entranceway to the lush and expansive Oze area, the station sells local specialty products such as akakabu-zuke red turnip pickles and Alpine leeks. The station also has a restaurant area where you can eat juwari soba noodles made with buckwheat grown in the harsh temperature changes of the area, soba-kaki dumplings, and gyoza pot stickers made with Alpine leeks.

    国道352号下り方面北側の小さめな道の駅。向いはポツンと一軒家状態。電波は4本立っています。洋式トイレは温水洗浄機能なし。用を済ませたらトットと立ち去ると良いでしょう。

    物産館では景色を眺めながらくつろげるシングルチェアが10数脚あり少し疲れた足を休めるには最高の場所。 お土産物と食堂とトイレもあるし駐車場も無料ですのでなんとなく立ち寄っても良い場所ですね。

    Shirakawa Komine Castle is a flatland-style Japanese castle that is just north of Shirakawa Station on the Tohoku Main Line. It is among Japan’s Top 100 Castles and one of Top 3 Tohoku Castles thanks to its stone walls which are rare in the Tohoku region. It was built in the Nanboku-cho period by Yuki Chikatomo on Kominegaoka Hill. In the Edo period it was lived in by Shogunate families such as the Honda and Matsudaira families. The modern three-story keep was reconstructed based on images from the Edo period and was designated as a National Historical Site in 2010.

    This is the largest high wetland in Honshu also known as the motif of a nationally beloved song, Natsu-no Omoide (“Summer Memories”). It is the 29th national park in Japan and includes Ozegahara. It is home to animals and plants unique to wetlands such as mizubasho (lysichiton americanum or asian skunk cabbage), iris setosa (arctic iris) and ermine as well as alpine plants such as day lilies and gentiana thunbergii. As the whole park area is formed by mountains such as Mt. Kasagatake, Mt. Shibutsu and Mt. Hiuchigatake, climbing equipment and clothes suitable to the season are indispensable. There are three campgrounds in the area and two visitor centers, and it is a base for walking and climbing.

    This ancient temple belonging to the Buzan-ha sect of Shingon Buddhism was founded by the monk Tokuitsu in the year 807. Also known as Aizu Chuo Yakushido, it possesses a number of national treasures and national important cultural assets that represent the Tohoku region. The temple's wooden seated image of the Bhaisajyaguru as well as the standing image of the Suryaprabha Bodhisattva and image of the Candraprabha Bodhisattva to its left and right are all national treasures. The temple possesses 12 other early Heian period Buddhist images, nine of which are important cultural assets. It is rare for so many statues from this period to be all in one place. The statues are available for viewing upon advanced request from April to mid November.

    This temple was built as the family temple of the Niwa clan, who were the lords of the Nihonmatsu Domain. The temple belongs to the Soto sect of Buddhism. Its grounds currently feature a reconstructed bell tower, the mausoleums of the successive heads of the Niwa clan, who ruled the Nihonmatsu Domain. It also features the graves of the members of the Nihonmatsu Youth Brigade whose young lives were lost during the Boshin War as well as a memorial tower dedicated to the victims of the conflict. Other points of interest include Kannonyama, a sacred place where the Saigoku Sanjusan Kannon are enshrined, a pilgrimage of thirty-three Buddhist temples throughout the Kansai region of Japan as well as the Enmei Koyasu Jizoson guardian Ksitigarbha of childbirth.

    大隣寺ははじめ、白河の地に建立されましたが、その後、国替えとともに二本松に移り、二本松藩主歴代の菩提寺となりました。 現在の本堂は1810年代に改築されたものです。戊辰戦争直後には、藩主の謹慎所や二本松藩庁の仮事務所、藩校などにも使用されました。本堂の左側には戊辰戦争殉難者の霊とともに、二本松少年隊隊長、副隊長と少年隊戦死者14人の供養塔が建立されています。

    This museum-and-café is a memorial for doctor Hideyo Noguchi, located in Nakamachi, Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. This black-walled, western-style warehouse was first built in 1884 and later renovated. The first floor is a café, and the second floor is a historical resources museum. Originally, it was the “Kyu-Kaiyo-in Hospital” where Hideyo underwent an operation for the hand he burned in childhood, and where he spent his adolescence later as a scholar. The museum displays a variety of documents relevant to Hideyo Noguchi.
