- This art museum is located along National Route 459, at Kengamine Hibara, Kitashiobara Village, Yama County Fukushima Prefecture. Since its opening in 1999, exhibits have centered on the collection of Teizo Morohashi—the founder of Xebio Holdings Company. It is known for housing roughly 330 pieces in its Salvador Dali collection, making it the only museum in Asia that permanently maintains works by Dali.

- A Japanese garden located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The garden was originally created in the Muromachi period as part of a villa built by Ashina Morihisa. Oyaku-en means medicinal herb garden -the name is derived from the many medicinal plants which are grown in it. Visitors can enjoy the garden's seasonal scenery as well as a cup of medicinal herb tea. The garden was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty as one of the best examples of an Edo period daimyo landscape garden.

Right on the town loop ¥120 bus route, so I stopped in. Not especially attractive, but the remedial herb garden history is unusual.

- The Goshikinuma (five-colors) lake group consists of dozens of large and small lakes, such as the Bishamon-numa, the Akanuma, and the Rurinuma. The water color of each lake varies according to the size of the particles in the water. The emerald green or cobalt blue shining water surface is mysteriously beautiful. It takes an hour and a half to stroll along the walking path.

- A Shingon Buddhist temple located in Aizubange Town, Kawanuma County Fukushima Prefecture. The temple's principal object of worship is an 11 faced, thousand hand statue of Kannon nicknamed the Tachiki Kannon. It is believed that the hermitage was constructed by the Liang Chinese monk Seigan in 540. Inside the Kannon-do hall, there is a pillar that is said to grant your wish if you embrace it, and many people come here to do just that.

- A museum dedicated to Chieko Takamura, poet and wife of sculptor Kotoaro Takamura, located in Yui Urushihara-machi, Nihommatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The museum design is modeled after a sake brewery and displays drawings and paintings. Occasionally, the living room used by the artist located on the second floor, normally closed to the public, is specially opened for viewing. The facility also holds workshops on making papercut art, postcards, and bookmarks with Kamikawasaki washi paper, attracting many visitors.

5年ぶりの訪問でした。今回は病に侵された智恵子の紙絵をゆっくり鑑賞、素朴でイノセントな紙絵はどこか儚く、言葉を失った智恵子の想いを伝えているような気がしました。

- A shrine in Kita-machi, Nakamura, Soma City. It was originally the Myokensha Shrine founded 1000 years prior by Taira no Masakado, an ancestor of the Soma family, before it was moved in 1611 to the grounds of Soma Nakamura Castle (the current temple grounds). The current main shrine building was constructed in 1643 and has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Archeological remains such as the stone walls of Soma Nakamura Castle are still present on the temple grounds.

Bandai via a giant model in the museum. The museum also displays various items and materials about and from the time of the eruption, in addition to presenting the history of Mt. Bandai and the plants and animals which live there. Visited by large numbers of families, the museum holds nature watching and other events several times a year.

磐梯山の噴火で湖ができた過程がよくわかる。観光客にはあまり人気がないらしく訪れる人は少ない。展示内容は大人向けなので子供は楽しめないと思う。貴重な資料がたくさんあり、どうやって湖ができたのか、湖には村が沈んでいるとか、いろいろ勉強になる。

- An outdoor museum featuring the Edo period Aizu residential complex of Saigo Tanomo, along with the old Nakahata encampment, a tea house, a rice mill, and other buildings of historical interest on the grounds. It is a comprehensive cultural facility built for the purpose of disseminating and transferring the history and culture of Aizu on a site of about 23,100 square meters. There are also shops and restaurants, and it is also possible to purchase special products and dine. You can experience the culture of Aizu by painting Akabeko (red bull dolls) and Okiagari Koboshi (papier-mâché roly-poly dolls of priests). (Reservations required)

会津若松の名物料理をあれこれ食べたくてセットメニューがあるお店を探していたところ、会津武家屋敷に併設されたレストランにそういうメニューがあったので訪ねました。 わっぱ飯、会津蕎麦、こづゆ、棒鱈煮付け、にしんの山椒煮など食べたいと思っていたものが揃っていました。一緒に地酒をいただけば完璧です！武家屋敷見学に合わせて是非オススメです。

A free tour is offered and visitors can see the actual storehouse area, exhibit room, and concert hall housed in traditional earthen wall storehouse. There’s a store selling limited edition sakes with a tasting corner; as well as a café housed in a storehouse built in 1892 which serves coffee brewed from the same water used for the sake, and chiffon cake made with daiginjo top quality sake.

1時間に一度、説明をしていただきながら見物出来ます。説明は、わかりやすくて興味をもてます。 震災後の復興にも力をいれている酒蔵さんで、野口英世とも縁がある由緒ある家系です。 最後に、ショップで試飲もさせていただけます。 とても美味しかったです。

In the Ofukuro Shokudo restaurant, you can eat handmade soba noodles, udon noodles, and tendon tempura rice bowls. The station has a spacious parking area and toilets and is a great place for drivers cruising through the area to take a break.

小さな道の駅です。 蕎麦がメインの食堂が併設されていますが、土産物の方が人気ですね。 その土産物ですが、地元の野菜や手作りのお菓子、ご飯、パンなどが魅力的です。 ここの焼きおにぎりやシソの葉で包んだおにぎりはお勧めです。レンジでチンして食べると良いですよ。

- A temple in Teramae, Hirano, Iizaka-machi, Fukushima City. It was established in 826. The principal object of worship in the main hall is the Dainichi Nyorai while in the Yakushi Hall the object of worship as introduced by the monk Kobo Daishi is the Yakushi Nyorai, also called the Saba-no-Yakushi. The temple was also the family temple for the Sato family of the Northern Fujiwara clan who ruled over Iizaka. While on his Narrow Road to the Interior, poet Matsuo Basho recalled the devotion of lord Sato Tsugunobu, who died taking an arrow for lord Minamoto no Yoshitsune, with a verse, 'Decorate the satchel and the sword with streamers, in the month of May.' The temple grounds have a slab with Basho's verse carved into it as well as a treasure hall.

散歩の途中で開成山神社へ行きました。立派な鳥居で、歴史を感じる本殿も立派です。始まりは明治時代のこの地域の開墾に関係しているようです。また、東北のお伊勢さまと呼ばれているようであり、立派な神社であることがわかります。開成山公園が近くで、この時期は桜が綺麗に見えます。満開の桜が近くで、威厳のある開成山神社がより映えて見えます。また、行きます。

- This is a sightseeing road in Fukushima City. It’s a 28.7 kilometer line connecting Takayu Onsen to Tsuchiyu Pass. It was once a toll road but is now free to use. Taking the route through to Azuma Mountain Range to an elevation of 1,350 meters offers a beautiful view of Mt. Azuma-kofuji and more. Every season has its attraction, such as the lovely foliage in fall, but the road is closed in winter.

- This park said to be Japan's oldest was created by Matsudaira Sadanobu, who was the lord of the Shirakawa Domain. In addition to being a wise ruler, Matsudaira was a master of the tea ceremony and an excellent gardener. At the Shorakutei tea house, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery set in front of the backdrop of Mt. Kagami's bamboo thickets. At the Shusuian tea house, it is possible to enjoy the scenery of the Chiyo no Tsutsumi and Mt. Seki. Visitors can also enjoy the seasonal scenery created by the park's 4,000 trees of various sizes representing 59 varieties, its 21,000 shrubs representing 49 varieties, and the ever-changing reflections in the lake. The park can also be used as a venue for traditional cultural activities.

母校の校歌も古関裕而氏の作だったことを思い出し立ち寄りました。校歌、歌謡曲、軍歌やスポーツ関係の曲の数々の他、NHKラジオの「ひるのいこい」のテーマ曲なども古関氏の曲と知り、その幅広さに驚きます。館内の撮影はできませんが、曲と映像も楽しめる施設となっています。
