A shop which carries crepe products and folk crafts amidst the simple Japanese-style homes of Ouchi-juku. The colorful crepe decorating the shop front is a sight which draws the eyes of countless tourists. All of the shop’s accessories and knickknacks are handmade. Particularly popular is the shop’s animals, dried persimmons, and vegetable baskets, all made from crepe material. The shop owner is quite friendly, and one of the shop’s charms is the warm welcome visitors are greeted with, sometimes including tea and a sampling of pickles. The shop makes for some great photographs in winter when snow is on the ground. The store does close, however, during snowstorms, so take note of the weather before visiting.

Momen Ito stands along Nanokamachi-dori Street, which passes through the heart of Aizuwakamatsu City. Selling accessories and clothing made with Aizu cotton, the shop is housed in an old-fashioned Japanese home reminiscent of Japan’s Showa period. Almost all of the shop’s products are made by local homemakers, and the shop often bustles with middle aged women. The female owner greets customers with warmth and friendliness. Shop regulars like to meet here to exchange patchwork ideas, making Momen Ito a good place to ask a question if you’re having any sewing difficulties.

"This local lifestyle shop is located close to Aizu Wakamatsu City Hall. It offers a selection of high-quality lifestyle tools that can be used for a long time from all over the world. The gently curving glass-walled store is lined with items that combine traditional techniques with a modern sense of design, and is known to be where you can find slightly luxurious Japanese souvenirs and things from Aizu. Their clothing made of Aizu cotton, the traditional cotton weaved in Aizu, lacquerware with the concept of ""living and playing with lacquer,"" and other items have also been well received by customers."

This is an Aizu kiri (paulownia wood) geta sandal shop that dates back to 1912. They make and sell geta sandal from finely grained and durable Aizu paulownia. In the Edo period, the Aizu domain encouraged the planting of paulownia, and now the trees in the Aizu region are the best in all of Japan. Typically, these sandals are made through a division of labor system, but this shop manages the entire process from felling the trees to hand-finishing each pair. Their work is popular for the way it brings new creativity to traditional Aizu paulownia geta sandal to create items suitable for modern life.
