    The Uesugi Hakushakutei (Uesugi Earl’s House), which was built as the residence for the 14th Earl Mochinori of the Uesugi clan on the site of Ninomaru in the former Yonezawa Castle in 1896, was burnt to the ground in the Great Fire of Yonezawa, but the building and the gardens, landscaped by Tokyo Hamarikyu, were completed in 1925. Following this it became the Uesugi Memorial Hall where local cuisine was served and exhibitions were held. It is the only place in Yonezawa where guests can enjoy ‘katemono’, or food items, created by Lord Yozan Uesugi and said to be the origin of Yonezawa’s local cuisine.

    This is a Japanese cuisine restaurant in Showa Town, Tsuruoka City. This restaurant transformed a historic Edo period sake cellar into a dining place. The antique European furnishings go well with the thick vault doors and dried persimmon stained beams, creating a Japanese-modern atmosphere. Kaiseki fine Japanese cuisine is offered specializing in the local Yamagata beef, Shonai seafood, Shonai vegetables and of course the Yamagata brand rice, Tsuyahime. The space is available for weddings as well.

They have a stall at the local Ringo Ichiba Morning Market every Sunday that's popular for fresh-picked vegetables and fried chicken chunks.

    山形在住の友人がおススメということで東根のこの店に連れて行ってもらった。店を入ると囲炉裏風のテーブルがあり、試食品が多数、店主と思われるご主人がお茶を入れてくれるサービスの良さ。麩饅頭や麩の商品が多数。特に唐揚げ風はそれらしい味がして良く工夫したなーと驚いた。他にも麩饅頭や麩の商品が多数。思わず友人と一緒にお土産を多数購入してしまった。駐車場あり、トイレも別棟に完備していた。

    なんだか実家とかおばあちゃんの家とかに来たような居心地の良い空間です。何を食べても美味しかったけど、馬刺がとても美味しかったです。店員さんもとても感じが良くてまた、ぜひ訪問したいお店です。店内禁煙なので、喫煙者は気をつけてお店の外な一旦でて吸う形になります。

    鰻重の 松 をいただきました。まず画像の通り焼きが足りないし割れてるし味も美味しくなかったです。同じ市内の○六さんはとても美味しかったです。小骨もチラホラありましたし専門店で食べる美味しい鰻には到底思えませんでした。100円プラスで肝吸も頂きましたが、お吸い物の素に麺つゆを香り付けに入れたような単調なお味でした。期待しすぎたのかなぁ。

    お庭を眺めながらの昼食会でした。歴史を感じさせるたたずまいと時期の藤棚は見事でした。予約の時は横柄な感じがしましたが実際背客してくれた方々は気持ちよかったです。有名料亭でしょうがやはり高いです。

    とても家庭的な料亭です。本格的な佇まいなので、敷居が高いと思っていましたが、とても家庭的な居心地の良いお店です。駐車場も広いので安心です。お料理は、予算に合わせて考えて下さるようで、手書きのお品書きが添えられます。ボリューム感も満点で、デザート前でお腹がいっぱいになるほどです。

    米沢の老舗料理店、郷土料理が楽しめます。塩引き寿司・冷汁・芋煮など米沢のソウルフードはもちろん、米沢牛のステーキも頂けます。ランチもやっていますので、塩引き寿司やちらし寿司をお手頃価格で利用出来ます。ランチの一番のお薦めはバラ寿司！手間暇かけたはずなのにこんなに安くていいんですか？って、思う一品です。

    少人数１０人ぐらいの集まりでしたが、高齢者が多い集まりはやはり1階の椅子席がいいですね。お料理もその都度、作りたてのものを運んで来て頂き皆さんに喜んで頂きました。

    すき焼きを食べる…最高です。 東光さんの日本酒も堪能して、贅沢な時間を過ごすことができる店です。 〆は、うどん！ 日本人で良かったと思う瞬間です。

Although often overlooked, Yamagata prefecture by no means lacks appeal: the Yamadera temple trail through the mountains, deliciously tender Yonezawa wagyu, and over 100 steaming hot springs, most notably Zao Onsen, await visitors. When winter comes, the snowcapped peaks become dotted with skiers by day and onsen-goers by night, while summer brings the celebration of juicy Yamagata cherries.
