    Located a 10 minute walk from JR Yamagata Station, this tourism and shopping facility focuses on seasonal Yamagata treats, delicacies, and products. The building was originally constructed as a warehouse and home for the Hasegawa safflower merchant family. In addition to restaurants, a souvenir shop, and direct farm shop selling local Yamagata agricultural products, the facility also hosts a tourist information center. At Beni-no-Kura, you can enjoy stone ground, handmade soba noodles; Italian cuisine made with traditional and seasonal vegetables; sweets, and more. At the souvenir shop and direct farm shop, you can purchase traditional Yamagata crafts, rare Japanese legacy vegetables, and other fresh agricultural products.

    山形駅から東に行った方向にあります。諏訪神社に行く途中に寄りました。かつて紅花商人であった長谷川家の蔵屋敷を活用した建物で、農産物の直売や観光情報の提供などをしています。建物は悪くないけど、何かを買うにはロケーション的に散策の途中であまり便利じゃないかも。

    なかなか活気があってよかったです！ 焼肉、寿司、天ぷら、お好み焼きとか色々ありますが、店自体は狭い感じなので、団体では厳しいかも！ 少人数で空いてればラッキー！まだまだ出来たばかりで混み合ってます。

    A shopping mall and multipurpose complex situated along the Ushu Highway east of Kajo Park. The eight floor building consists of shopping between floors one and three and the Yamagata City Central Community Center from floors four through eight. The shopping area primarily consists of stores selling women's clothing and other apparel as well as all sorts of life necessities and niceties, from jewelry to glasses and bags. The Yamagata Geibun Museum is also located on floor 2 and sells and holds exhibitions of works of art by local artists. Community center facilities include a library, performance hall, and gallery.

    This is a multi-purpose park in Shirakura, Asahi Town. In this park are various accommodations including a hotel, cottages, and a campsite. There is a restaurant, and other areas for enjoying nature; a ski slope, a ball field, a golf course, tennis courts, and a fishing pond. The restaurant serves the very uncommon ostrich meat, and other menu items using the local fresh vegetables, along with the Asahi Town wine.

It was refurbished in 2017, and now has the “Irodori Kitchen” on the first floor which sells fresh foods, prepared dishes and other foodstuffs, and “Yamagata Souvenirs Aya” on the second floor which stocks all kinds of local candies and special items.

It encompasses the buildings of the prefectural Important Cultural Asset Marudai Ogiya, with 350 years of merchant family history, and the cultural facility Kozakurakan in the former Nishiokitama County Hall. There are also exhibits of work by woodcarver Naganuma Kozo, third son of family leader Naganuma Kozo, as well as his collection of folk and farm implements in the Naganuma Kozo Gallery.

Although often overlooked, Yamagata prefecture by no means lacks appeal: the Yamadera temple trail through the mountains, deliciously tender Yonezawa wagyu, and over 100 steaming hot springs, most notably Zao Onsen, await visitors.
