    A local cuisine restaurant in Omachi Town, Akita City, Akita Prefecture, where one can taste Akita’s fresh seafood and mountain food. The menu is a lineup of Akita specialties including kiritanpo (mashed rice pressed on a skewer and toasted) and shottsuru (salted and fermented fish sauce), sandfish, hinaijidori (a cross between Hinai-Dori and Rhode Island Red Chickens), with kiritanpo being served with the most pride. The kiritanpo using Akitakomachi rice from the Senpoku plain is known for its sweetness and aroma, and are rolled and baked stick by stick. The tasty aroma one gets from a sip of the hinaijidori broth soup is another draw for visitors. Aside from counter seats there are also private rooms and sunken kotatsu (warmer) seats, allowing you to enjoy your meal in peace.

    An izakaya pub with a distinct triangular roof in the middle of on onsen hot spring village. Their specialty is their roasted grilled hagfish, locally called a pole eel, which is well known for pairing well with sake. Along with the sea-scented pole eel another great choice is the fresh caught seafood prepped right there on the beach. Their menu also includes ramen noodle soup and set meals.

    A sushi restaurant that serves up fresh caught seafood from Kitaura Harbor, located just behind the restaurant. Their voluminous Top Quality Chirashi Sushi is very popular. You can completely enjoy whatever's in season including fresh sea urchin and Iwagaki oysters in the summer or sandfish sushi and Shottsuru Sandfish Hot-pot in the winter. They also have a guesthouse which can accommodate up to 20 lodgers.

    We were there for lunch for 6 of us. The food was great taste with good ingredients. We ordered ramen for the kids and it tastes great.

    Tsuneya has been operating at Kawabata—largest shopping district in Akita Prefecture—since 1961. The three pillars of the menu here are sukiyaki, eel, and Akita local cuisine. In particular the local cuisine kiritanpo stew with its matching Hinai chicken soup is praised by tourists and locals alike. As for seasonal dishes, there is sansei (edible wild plants) cooking in spring, Iwagaki oyster in summer, and mushroom cuisine in fall. Savoring the seasonal flavors is one more key feature of Tsuneya.

    久しぶりに訪れました。1Fのテーブル席を予約しました。2階で宴会が入ってて、お酒、料理等を中居さんが運んでいてバタバタしてました。調理場からは怒鳴り声が聞こえたりで、せっかくの時間が・・・・・ガッカリです。 料理も、すき焼き、うなぎを除いてはたいした事がありません。時代遅れがしました。 こんなもんでしょうか?

They serve seafood rice bowls like the Seafood Namahage Bowl with abalone, as well as fisherman cuisine like Zappa Jiru fish soup and Stone Grilled Meals, ramen, rice and curry and more. And when red sea bream is in season, they offer sashimi, salt-grilled and sea bream Zappa Jiru sets in the Meibutsu Madai Gozen (by reservation only). Their large hall on the second flood can accommodate large groups, as well. Their shop sells sea goods, local crafts, and more.

    男鹿半島の突端、入道崎付近にあるお店に訪問。緊急事態宣言緩和のおかげなのか少しずつ観光客が戻っている印象です。 いつの間にか少し値上がりしていましたがいつもよりボリュームはあったかなという感じがしました。 熱々の石焼きにはたくさんの鯛の身が入っていましたしお刺身の厚みもありました。 わかめも美味しいんですよね。

    ご当地グルメのハタハタ丼。 意外に歴史は浅いらしく、でも上品な味わいを存分に味わえました。 はたはたタルタル丼は700円台でコスパも高く、青魚フライのような歯ごたえと、うまみタレで箸が進みます。 他の店舗でも食べられるようなので、出張でなければプライベートで制覇したいところ。

    寿しの定番ですね。しかし最近はコロナの影響なのか、新幹線でのオーダーのみになっていました。衛生的で却ってよくなかったかもしれませんね。
