- This is a hot spring waterfall in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. It's also known as Kawarage Onsen, and is famed for its very rare natural hot spring waterfall. Swimsuits are required to enter. It also has one of Japan's three sacred places, along with nearby Aomori's Mt. Osorezan and Toyama's Mt. Tateyama, in Kawarage Jigoku, and brings many climbers to the area.

Alongside the celebrated rice paddies and historical sites of the region lies dramatic natural scenery in the form of the rugged coastline of the Oga Peninsula and the Dakigaeri Gorge, best visited in autumn, when the leaves begin to change color.
