    This waterfall is located in Takinosawa, Fujikoto, Fujisato Town, Yamamoto County. The area around the falls has been built into a park dedicated to promoting affinity with water. It is a popular spot for experiencing the seasonal nature of the valley, including the fresh spring greenery and the fall foliage. Sugae Masumi, the late Edo period traveler who spent his final years in Akita, visited the falls. A stone monument bearing the waka poem he wrote during that visit stands near the falls.
  • Naso no Shirataki Falls

    Shirataki Falls is located on the middle stretch of the Naso River, which flows down from Mt. Chokai. The falls, 11 meters wide and 26 meters tall, create a massive splash as they flow down. In 1932, it was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty. A panoramic view of the falls is available from the pavilions of the nearby Kinpo Shrine.

    Melt water and spring water from Mt. Chokai cascades down this 100-meter-long and 57.4-meter-high three-step waterfall. It has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls and Important Natural Monument and scenic spot of Akita Prefecture. It is particularly famous for the flow of a width of 3 to 30 meters at the waterfall basin of 3,000 square meters. The magnificent amount of white water flowing boasts an incredible sound. The fall is surrounded by deciduous broad‐leaved trees, making the area famous for viewing the fall leaves. The colorful reds and yellows with the flowing waterfall makes it an unmissable mystical sight.

  • Yasu Falls

    This waterfall is located in the Nakanomata Valley in the Sugeyaji area of Aniutsuto, Kita-Akita City. A majestic waterfall with two levels and falling 90 meters, its name is said to come from the nearly 300-year old Tragic Legend of Yasu Falls, where a young lady named Yasu jumped into the waterfall thinking of her lover. Known for its landscape in autumn with colored leaves and fresh greenery, it is ranked second in the Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan.

    This is a hot spring waterfall in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. It's also known as Kawarage Onsen, and is famed for its very rare natural hot spring waterfall. Swimsuits are required to enter. It also has one of Japan's three sacred places, along with nearby Aomori's Mt. Osorezan and Toyama's Mt. Tateyama, in Kawarage Jigoku, and brings many climbers to the area.

    "A waterfall situated along the Jukai Line in Fujiwara, Uwamuki, Kosaka Town, Kazuno County, Akita Prefecture. Falling 60 meters in total, the falls' name, which literally translates to ""Seven Waterfalls,"" is derived from the fact that it consists of seven tiers. Selected for inclusion in a list of 100 elections of the waterfall in Japan, Nanataki Shrine, dedicated to the dragon king, is located below the falls, while Roadside Station Kosaka Nanataki stands across from the falls on the other side of the road."

    A waterfall located in Ushiromata, Kawabeiwami, Akita City. The waterfall is notable for its short drop and abundant water flow. A walking path is maintained in the area and visitors can take in gorgeous scenery interweaving the waterfall, bare rock, and surrounding greenery. One of the area's charms is that visitors can take in beautiful views no matter what time of year, from hill cherry tree blossoms in spring and greenery peeking out between the bare rock in summer to fall foliage in autumn and snowscapes in winter.
