- This temple is located in Kisakata-machi, Nikaho City. It is a Soto sect Buddhist temple whose principle object of worship is Shakamunibutsu. It is famous as a temple which has been visited by literati for a very long time, and inside the temple grounds, there is a statue of Basho and haiku writings in his travel’s jounal, Oku no Hosomichi. It is also famous for what are known as the seven wonders of Kanmonji Temple, such as the well of ghostly appearances and the camellia that cry at night.

人気の観光スポットなだけあって、広い駐車場があるのが便利。トイレは古いので、使いたくない人もいると思う。境内は大人1人300円で入れる。有料区域内には、芭蕉句碑や出世稲荷、木登り地蔵などがある。木登り地蔵は、出世稲荷の参道から覗くと見ることができる。舟つなぎ石があることからも、昔は海であったことがわかる。有料区域と駐車場にある立ち入り禁止の階段は八島神社に繋がっている。境内北側には、無料で楽しめる...

- A temple located along Prefectural Route 233 in Izumi-mitakene, Akita city. As the family temple for the Satake Family, feudal lords of the Akita domain, when the family was forced to relocate from Hitachi to Akita the temple also moved to its current location. The main hall and main gate are registered Important Cultural Properties of Japan and the temple grounds are registered as a Prefectural Historic Landmark. *The temple is closed to the public until fall of 2023 due to construction.

立派な石畳、造詣が素晴らしい門、境内全域が県指定史跡になっている。寺にあまり興味が無い人には退屈かもだが、見応えは抜群。

- Saihouzi Temple, located in Hiraka-machi, Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, is home to the prefecture's largest temple bell. The bells are rung at 6 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. If you visit during those periods you can ring the bell. You can also ring the bell on New Year's Eve. (Phone reservation required). As a Barrier-Free Temple the temple is equipped with ramps and elevators so that parishioners in wheel chairs can equally visit the temple. It's also the site of the only pet crematorium in Yokote City and many people from both in the prefecture and other prefectures visit to have their pets cremated and memorial services held for them. In the Hououkaku service hall they perform funeral services and memorial services as well as copying of sutras and Zen meditation as needed.

- A hall located on the site of the love story between Ono no Komachi and Fukakusa no Shosho. As the original Komachi Jinja Shrine which enshrined Shakuyakuzuka was deteriorating the new hall was built to commemorate Komachi. The vibrant building is painted vermillion to resemble Byodo-in Temple's Houou hall. Every year on the second Sunday of June when the peonies are at their peak of beauty, they hold the Komachi Festival to commemorate Komachi.

盛岡市内から341号線で角館入口の臨時駐車場に停めて徒歩で観光しましたが、地図でみるよりも以外に遠く車で行けばよかった。市内は中心部以外は車で走行できるみたいだった。 寺は想像より広く、ソメイヨシノや枝垂れ桜が満開で綺麗でした。でも観光客は私達だけで、殆どは中心地かさくら祭りに集中していました。曹洞宗で本尊は釈迦牟尼仏です。11代当主の芦名盛信が室町時代の高僧である傑堂能勝を招き開山したのが始まり...

広い庭園の中には広葉樹林がたくさん植えられていて、とてもきれいでした。歴史的なところは分かりませんが、霊場にもなっているみたいですね。

本荘郵便局の近くにあるお寺。見事な山門で、遠目からも目をひきます。1865年に完成したものとのことで、150年以上の歴史があります。山門の彫刻は一見の価値があります。

檜山といえば納豆が有名ですがこの多寶院も良いです。 細い山道を進んで行き止まりになった所の右手にあります。 駐車場もありますが途中の道はすれ違いができない所もありますので慎重に運転していく必要があります。 大きな本堂とその手前にある枝垂れ桜がとてもきれいです

秋田県・羽後本荘駅から由利高原鉄道で終点矢島へ。矢島はかつて矢島藩が置かれ、生駒氏が治めました。龍源寺は生駒氏の菩提寺で、茅葺の本堂が素晴らしいです。
