    Miyagi Shiroishi-shi Nakamachi 48-5
A merchant house located in the center of town. Construction lasted from the mid-Meiji period to the Taisho period. The storehouse, main building, and treasury all give the appearance of the style of the wealthy Edo-Tokyo style merchant class and throughout the country there aren't many manors like this that are still so well preserved. The building is highly regarded as a very valuable cultural heritage. As you pass through the main gate, you'll find a garden of carefully maintained seasonal trees and vegetation and will feel as if you've traveled back in time to the good old days of the Meiji or Taisho periods. The property is currently a rental space and is used for a variety of genres of events including Rakugo comic storytelling, plays, small live music events, and photo exhibitions.

    Miyagi Katta-gun Shichikashukumachi Nametsu
This jizo (Kshitigarbha) statue is located the Michinoku Fairy Tale Road in Nametsu, Shichikashuku Town, Katta County. Legend has it that it was erected by a lord of the Akita Domain in the memory of a beautiful local girl who had stolen his heart while he traveled through the area on his way to Edo but tragically passed away before they could meet again. Its name comes from its characteristic form, which depicts the Kshitigarbha as wearing a furisode (long-sleeved kimono).

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
