    This gorge was formed at the southern foot of Mt. Hanabuchi by the Oyagawa River. The sides are precipitous, with drops from 80 to100 meters high, and stretch for about three kilometers. The fall leaves here are a famous sight, and this is designated one of Miyagi Prefecture’s top sights. There’s a maintained walking trail stretching about 2.5 kilometers along the river, taking about an hour to walk, and offering a gorgeous view of not only the forest but also rock formations created by the river’s erosion. The Narukokyo Resthouse in particular offers a stunning view of the Obukazawa Bridge contrasted against the leaves.

    This hot spring bathhouse is located inside Tenshukaku Natural Park Prefectural Route 131 in Genbehara, Akiumachi Yumoto, Taihaku Ward, Sendai City. It uses natural hypotonic and mildly alkaline hot springs said to help with conditions such as nerve pain, muscle soreness, joint pain, chronic skin diseases, chronic women’s diseases, cuts, burns, and sickliness in children. The bathhouse, which is built of Japanese cypress, features two different outdoor baths. Guests can even take advantage of weekday-only packages that include a meal at the nearby soba restaurant and admission to the adjacent Japanese garden.

    西方寺に寄る際に近くに地元の定義とうふがあり豆腐好きの私としては揚げも大好物で揚げたての揚げに醤油と七味をふりかけがぶっと噛めばぺろっと美味しく食べれます。結構な行列ですが回転が早くすぐに食べれます。座る所もありますが参道の道路淵に座り皆さん食べていました。他にもお店があり賑やかな参道になっています。

The Kansei no Mori indoor wooden play land provides a play space for children who don't have many chances to play in the great outdoors.

    Visitors to this facility can learn about Yajirokokeshi, a doll which features a large head drawn like wearing a beret, and a vividly colored, striped torso. The museum has an exhibition about the history of kokeshi dolls with old, reminiscent photographs on the first floor, and a painting experience class and exhibits that are for sale on the second floor. Yajiroarea, which is said to be one of the birthplaces of kokeshi dolls, is a small village of Kijishi (woodturner) masters located in a space between valleys. From fall to winter, trees on the mountain were felled to make kokeshi dolls, which, as souvenirs sold to visitors to the hot springs, became well-known alongside the history of the area's hot springs. In addition to workshop tours and painting experience classes, kokeshi dolls that are no longer needed, or can no longer be appreciated, are memorialized here.

    Sendai Wild Plants Garden, which extends over the western slopes of Mt. Dainenji, is a botanical garden that is mainly focused on the wild plants of Japan’s Tohoku Region. Visitors can view characteristic local plants such as iris and acorn-bearing oak trees, as well as beautiful seasonal flowers. The Garden also has extensive grass lawns, and is a popular place for relaxing under the shade of the Japanese zelkova trees. A variety of special events are held in the Garden, including photography exhibitions and nature observation activities, etc. The autumn Bush Clover Festival attracts particularly large numbers of tourists, with concerts, moon-viewing parties, etc.

    その時期の見ごろのお花をパネル展示してあったり丁寧な仕事をされている植物園です。豆子蜂（人を刺したりしないとても小さな蜂）の家の展示があったり楽しめる場所です。

    A museum in TeraikeNakamachi, Toyoma Town, Tome City. It's located in the former Tome Police Station built in 1889 and specializes in police-related exhibitions. Meiji period police cells have been reconstructed from foundations discovered during building reconstruction and an attached scout tower built at the same time as the building has been designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of the Prefecture.

    山添喜三郎氏が設計したもので、明治の事務所建築としては珍しいものらしいです。木造の二階建て、白いペンキの寄棟の瓦葺きです。玄関屋根下の白壁には金色の警察紋章が輝いており、貴賓も感じられます。建家内は、明治の警察官の制服や留置場などがあり、興味深いところでした。

The store also boasts a record of 25,000 ohagi sold in a single day. The store sells standard anko sweet bean, kinako toasted soybean flour, and sesame seed ohagi in packages of varying number. In addition, from October to May, the store also sells unusual natto fermented soybean ohagi.

    若かりし頃一度見学した記憶があり、再訪してみました。 震災後に映像は作り替えられているようですが、設備は昔のまま？ 津波の映像に合わせて、座席がガタガタと揺れたり、風が前方から吹いてきたり、 壁のカーテンが開き、映像が鏡で広げられたりと、懐かしみのある演出。 古くてもそれなりに体験させてもらいました。

This public bathhouse is situated in a corner of Akiu Onsen, a hot spring village famous since ancient times, is considered one of Japan's top three hot spring destinations alongside Arima Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture and Dogo Onsen in Ehime Prefecture. The bathhouse is small, with just a single compact bath, but customers can enjoy high quality hot spring waters drawn directly from a source spring and without the use of any added waters, additional heating, or recirculation. The waters of the earthy chloride mildly saline spring are known for their powerful body warming effect and locals as well as customers from far and wide travel here to enjoy their benefits.

    A 12-minute walk from the West 1 Exit of T04 Kokusai Center Station on the Tozai Line subway. A natural botanical garden established by Tohoku University in Aobayama for research and educational purposes. This is the first botanical garden in Japan to be designated a Natural Monument. The main building contains plant and animal specimens and stuffed animals, while alpine plants are planted in the rock garden and Asian skunk cabbage and similar plants can be found in the wetland plant botanical garden area. There are walking paths and a nature park at the site and visitors can go on a small hike while viewing rare plants and also occasionally encounter wild animals such as squirrels and Japanese giant flying squirrels.

In addition to the main bath and waterfall bath, which draw their waters directly from the source, there is a Finnish style sauna to enjoy. The outdoor bath is the largest in the prefecture, and can be enjoyed sitting, half-sitting or even reclining The restaurant offers over 40 dishes at all times and the beer and soft cream is especially enjoyable after a hot bath. One can also relax in the rest area where zabuton cushions are available for guests.

    週末の夜に訪れましたが、賑わっていました。ただ、温泉も建物もゆったりとした作りなので混んでいる印象は受けませんでした。 温度の違う風呂が中と外にそれぞれありました。寒い日だったので、暖かい風呂がうれしかったです。

The permanent exhibit hall features exhibits on topics including the history of the town and folk entertainment. There is also a special exhibit hall that hosts several special exhibits each year. A festival float from Hotei Festival, a tradition dating back eight centuries, is displayed in the entrance hall.

    道の駅に隣接しているので、寄ってみるといいです。無料なのですが、意外と面白いです蔵の町のことがわかります。

    Located around 25 minutes’ drive from Tsukidate Interchange, Hosokura Mine Park is a theme park built on the site of the former Hosokura Mine, which closed in 1987. The facilities at the Park faithfully recreate the way the mine appeared when it was still operational; visitors can walk along the mine shafts, and can learn about how mining was carried out. There is also a Hosokawa Mine Museum which displays items discovered in the Mine, has extensive information about the Mine’s history, and has examples of important types of mineral ores and models showing the Mine’s operations, etc. There is also a gold-panning experience zone where visitors can try their hand at panning for gold dust; visitors can take the gold dust that they collect home with them.

    栗駒山から鳴子峡に向かう途中に、旧鉱山があるとわかり、急遽立ち寄りました。ゴーストタウンの雰囲気で、見学者も我ら2人だけ「？」との気分でした。 ただ坑道や地域の説明により、このような産業(労働者)が日本を影で押し上げた事が良くわかり、貴重な文化遺産です。

It is located near the Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant and introduces the process of nuclear power generation through models and images in an easily accessible way. It also presents a detailed exhibition about nuclear power and its perception in society through panel displays and video based on the aftermath of the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. Their Sweet Garden on the premises has 70 varieties of roses, and they hold a rose garden fair from early summer to fall. This facility lets visitors see, feel, and learn while enjoying themselves.

    Belonging to the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism headed by Myoushin-ji Temple, Entsuin Temple is the first temple on the Sanriku 33 Kannon pilgrimage. The Sankeiden mausoleum was built on the top of a hill in 1646. The premises feature a rock garden with a heart-shaped pond, and in the autumn the colorful leaves on the trees make for a splendid sight. At night the garden is illuminated and the grounds are enveloped in a very mysterious atmosphere. It is also known as the rose temple for the splendid sight of beautiful roses blooming in its Western-style rose garden (Byakaho Seiyo-no-Niwa). In recent years the number of roses has dwindled, and it has come to be loved as the moss temple for the moss growing around the grounds.
