    Miyagi Shiroishi-shi Nishi-masuokacho 5-40
    A historic building in Nishimasuoka Town, Shiroishi City. It is the former residence of the Koseki family, retainers to the Katakura family who ruled in Shiroishi Castle, and historical documents confirm that the building was constructed in 1730. After it was donated to the city it underwent full repairs and has been designated a Prefectural Cultural Property.

    宮城県 白石市 にある 旧小関家(武家屋敷)です。 この場所は、映画 『ラストレター 』ロケ地で、裕里(森七菜 )が自転車で通りかかった姉・未咲(広瀬すず )を鏡史郎(#神木隆之介 )に紹介するシーンで使われました。宮城県指定文化財です。

    Kanrantei is a tea house that was transferred from Toyotomi Hidetoshi’s family residence in Shinagawa, Edo, Fushimi- Momoyama Castle, as a gift to Date Masamune. The second-generation lord, Lord Tadamune moved the building to Matsushima. It was used as a facility “Okariya” for Matsushima sightseeing and entertaining lords, aristocratic women and concubines. The paintings on the fusuma (sliding doors) by Sendai clan painter Sakuma Shozan have been recognized as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

    Came here after visited Zuiganji temple. Entrance fee 200 yen each. Small tea house facing Matsushima bay, we are the only 2 at that moment so could have unblock full view of the bay & enjoy tea...

    A historic building located in Shiogama City a 10 minute walk from Hon-Shiogama Station on the JR Senseki Line built in 1924 by Fumihira Kamei, the first president of the Kamei Corporation. Of high historic value, the building combines old fashioned Japanese architecture with Western architectural styles, incorporating art nouveau and session styles in the exterior design in a way that is difficult to replicate with modern plastering techniques. The retro Taisho period structure is open to the general public and is also used as the main venue for events such as the Hina Meguri doll festival and the Shiogama-sama Kamigami no Hana Akari lantern festival.

    つい最近までお住まいだったらしく、なんとか昔からの部分を公開してます。雨戸もないし、これからの保存はたいへんそうです。また、最近までお住まいだった方も、これだけ風通しがよい建物では寒かったと推察します。

    Miyagi Katta-gun Shichikashukumachi Nametsu
    This historical building is located in Michinoku Fairy Tale Road in Nametsu, Shichikashuku Town, Katta County. During the Edo period it served as accommodations for feudal lords traveling between their domains and the capital. The home still looks just as it did when the town was a prosperous highway post station along the Shichikashuku Highway. As it is a private residence, the interior is not open to the public.

    This historical building is located on National Route 457 in Aoneonsen, Kawasaki Town, Shibata County. Built in Sendai during the Meiji period as a residence for missionaries, it was later relocated to its current location. The first floor of the home features a tourist information center and a cafe. The second floor serves as a memorial hall to Koga Masao, a composer with connections to Aone Onsen.

    This important preservation district of historic buildings is located in Murata Town, Shibata County. Long ago the region prospered as a trading hub on the highway that connected Sendai and Yamagata. Even now, it retains rows of storehouses owned by the merchants of Murata, who engaged businesses such as the safflower trade. The Kura no Machi Murata Hotei Festival is held here every October.

    A historic building in Iwadeyama Kamikawara Town, Osaki City, in front of Yubikan Station. It was used as a school by the Iwadeyama Date family, founded by Muneyasu the fourth son of Date Masamune, and the buildings and garden have been preserved including the Gokaijo hall where the head of the Date family would give lectures. This location has been designated as both a historic location and a place of scenic beauty. In August they hold the Yubikan Festival with an evening illumination of the grounds.

    A historical site in NarukoOnsenShitomae, Osaki City. This was the location where a checkpoint had been established during the Sengoku period at a strategic point along the Dewa Kaido Road. In 1670 it was turned into the Shitomae Guardhouse by the local ruling Date family. In famous poet Matsuo Basho's work Oku no Hosomichi he tells of when he and his student Sora were passing through the checkpoint and fell under the suspicions of a government official.

    A historical building located within Zaimokuiwa Park in ObaraUwadai, Shiroishi City. It's the former Kimura family house which has been moved and restored but served for generations as an inspection facility in Kamitozawa, one of the relay stations along the Shichikashuku mountain pass. Being a valuable example of its architectural style it has been designated a Tangible Cultural Property of the prefecture.
