"15 minutes by car from Hanamaki Station at Miyazawa Kenji Dowa Mura (Village of Fairy Tales) in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture. Village of Fairy Tales is a facility where you can enjoy learning in the fantasy world of Miyazawa Kenji. The Mori no Misekkoya is among the log cabins known as ""Kenji's Classrooms.” In addition to merchandise based on Miyazawa Kenji's work, the shop also handles a variety of Hanamaki specialties. The log cabin classrooms are all side by side, with an ""Animal Classroom"" in the center, a ""Plant Classroom"" on the left, and the Mori no Misekkoya on the left. On the right side, there is a ""Star Classroom"" and a ""Bird Classroom.” All of them feature elements found in his fairy tales."

Iwate Areas

around-area-map

A northern Tohoku prefecture promising peace and quiet, Iwate is sparsely populated, replacing people with snow-capped mountains, history-rich sites, and fields of crops that are to thank for the region’s delicious local cuisine. Meander along the three-city Golden Route, where you’ll visit the grand Buddhist temples of Hiraizumi and the Tono folk villages before tasting the three famed noodle dishes of Morioka.
