    江戸時代から盛岡城に縁のある場所。南部伯爵家別邸として1908年に新築造園された木造建築と庭園が見事です。秋の紅葉のライトアップが有名ですが、初夏の庭園は睡蓮や紫陽花が見頃。池の周辺を歩いたり、木陰のベンチでゆっくりのんびり。館内には行列ができる手打ちそば屋さん極楽野があり、庭園をみられる席でお蕎麦をいただくのが人気。駐車場もあり盛岡の身近なお出かけスポットです。
