    "This roadside station, located on National Route 4 in Hiraizumi Town, opened in April 2017. It is nicknamed the ""Kugane Hanasaku Risokyo"" (Ideal Land of Golden Blooming Flowers). The station's exterior, mixing black with gold highlights, blends in nicely with the scenery of Hiraizumi. The spacious interior is accented with warm woods and is divided into an information center, local specialty products area, and a restaurant. The local specialty products market carries fresh farm products, popular doburoku unrefined sakes, and other products from Hiraizumi Town. In the restaurant, you can enjoy dishes made with fresh vegetables and other local ingredients."

    Anbe is a well established “Genghis Khan”, or Mongolian mutton barbecue restaurant founded in 1947. Widely loved in Tono City, it is said that this restaurant was the original Genghis Khan restaurant which made the dish it is today. Anbe is also known as the birthplace of the Genghis Khan Bucket, characteristic of Tono Genghis Khan. The tin bucket with holes in it uses solid fuel to heat the barbecue grill placed on top.

    Located about a 20-minute walk from the Sanriku Railway Rias Line’s Taro Station, the facility was damaged by the tsunami that is said to have exceeded 17 meters in height due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. The building, which was flooded up to the fourth floor, leaving only pillars up to the second floor but not collapsing, is preserved as a tsunami archaeological site to pass on to future generations so memories of the massive damage of not forgotten. You can participate in a guided tour to learn about disaster prevention that is held by the Miyako Tourism Cultural Exchange Association that allows visitors to visit the building and watch tsunami videos taken at the hotel on the day of the earthquake.

    A museum dedicated to Takuboku Ishikawa and Kenji Miyazawa. These two historic figures spent their youths in Morioka City during the Meiji and Taisho periods, and the museum presents materials relating to Morioka City during those times. The museum building, completed in 1910, was once the Dai Kuju Bank head office and is designated a National Important Cultural Property.

There is a traffic light in the bathhouse that shows the arrival time of the next train, so you can enjoy bathing while waiting for the train.

    ほっとゆだ駅の駅舎がそのまま温泉入浴施設になっています。共同浴場なので、観光客よりも地元の方が普段づかいでたくさんこられています。公共施設には珍しい源泉かけ流しの温泉。特にあつ湯は素晴らしい。旅の疲れがとれるいい温泉です。

    Kogensya is a store located on a site extending from JR Morioka Station to the Kitakami River that specializes in traditional handicraft products such as Nambu ironware and Urushi lacquerware. The items on sale are not limited to Iwate Prefecture’s own specialty products; they also include handicraft products from all over Japan, including Okinawan glassware, Shusaigama-ware ceramics from Shimane Prefecture, etc. Kogensya’s founder, Oikawa Shiro, was a classmate of Miyazawa Kenji, the writer of children’s stories who is one of Iwate Prefecture’s most famous authors, and was involved in the publication of “The Restaurant of Many Orders,” a collection of Miyazawa’s children’s stories. Kogensya’s Majieru-kan building and Kahi-kan café both have many items relating to Miyazawa Kenji on display, making Kogensya a popular place for Miyazawa Kenji enthusiasts to visit.

    いーはとーぶアベニュー材木町にある宮沢賢治との係わりの深い場所です。賢治が童話集「注文の多い料理店」を出版し、当時はほとんど売れなかった時代をともにした出版社。店の奥、中庭に、注文の多い料理店 出版の地の碑や烏の北斗七星の石柱、原稿などの展示館があり、賢治との係わりの深さが感じられる場所です。 訪ねた際は休館中でしたが、喫茶室もあるので、通りの散策の際、立ち寄って楽しんでください。

    This roadside station is located along National Route 45 in the Sanriku-cho area of Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture. Various seasonal seafood such as abalone from Sanriku-cho is sold here. In addition to the fresh fish corner, Persimmon ice cream using the Sanriku specialty, Koeda persimmon, is also popular. With facilities such as a resting area, it is widely used as a place to socialize by both local residents and tourists.

    This is a local food and souvenir shop on Sanriku road. I visited here every time when I come to Ofunato. I tasted the softcream everytime, althought the temperature was under 1 degree.

    This roadside station is located along National Route 282. In the direct sales store for produce, you can purchase fresh seasonal vegetables, juices and jams produced at the base of Mt. Iwate. In addition, they offer curry and ramen using spinach. There is also a restaurant certified with two stars for local production and consumption visited by many tourists.

    今回初めてお店に入りました。お昼ごはんを食べたいと思って、こちらの道の駅に初めて寄りました。友達が杜中茶ポークかつ丼を注文して、私も道の駅おすすめのほうれん草入り冷やし中華を注文しましたが、麺の色が緑色でとてもびっくりしましたよ☺️

It uses the site of the Mitakai branch school of Iwaizumi Town Kado Elementary School, and is characterized by being built with the remains of the school. In addition to snacks such as grilled rice balls and croquettes, there is a co-op that sells local farm products and processed goods and a school lunchroom where you can eat, making it a place where you can get a sense of nostalgia.

    廃校を活用した、道の駅。木の椅子、机の上で、昔なつかしの給食(日替わりで、イカリングや紙パックの牛乳など)や揚げパンを楽しむことができる。少しばかり童心にかえる時間が持てます。

This hot spring aims to warm your body and your core with 11 indoor and outdoor baths such as highly-concentrated carbonated bath and an infrared low-temperature sauna. They also have five types of rock baths including the latest aroma baths which really gets the sweat flowing. The relaxation space comes with reclining beds and tatami floors with bean cushions so visitor can spend a lot of time relaxing.

    盛岡旅行の際に訪れました。炭酸泉が売りの温泉だけあって、炭酸が高濃度で気持ち良かったです。ただ、盛岡駅周辺に宿をとっていたのでアクセスが悪く、行きは、盛岡市内からバスで、帰りは最寄り駅から電車を利用しました。特に、帰りの最寄り駅は分かり難く、暗い夜道を歩いていると不気味でした。

    This museum that opened in 1980 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the creation of Morioka Prefecture is located in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. It exhibits materials about the natural environment in Iwate and the history of the prefecture from the geological age to the modern era. You can see Mt. Iwate from the second floor on day with clear weather. The private houses Former Sasaki Residence and Former Fujino Residence, both Important Cultural Properties, are exhibited on the premises and visited by many tourists.

    ゾウライドは正直あまり良い印象を受けませんでした。象にドリルのようなものを刺して痛みを与えて従わせていたからです。人が乗るたび毎回刺されているかと思うと、あまりに可哀想なのでもう乗りません。

    This beach is adorned with sharp white rock formations, creating an other-worldly atmosphere. The name Jodogahama refers to the Buddhist “Pure Land.” The beach is filled with bathers in summer. The rock formations visible include flow structures formed by rolling lava, and plate shaped fractures called “joints” formed when magma cools rapidly. The unusual geology led to this area being designated a Sanriku Fukko (reconstruction) National Park & Sanriku Geopark.

    陸中野田駅の駅舎と一体化した道の駅。土産物店、地域で収穫された農産物の販売所、レストランなどが入っている。野田村では昔から直煮製塩という方法で塩が作られているということで、製塩作業を表現したジオラマやパネル説明があり、その塩を使った商品も販売している。中でもオススメは「のだ塩ソフトクリーム」。ほのかに塩味が効いており、汗をかく夏にはピッタリの味わいである。

    This ski area is located in Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate County. Situated 35 minutes from the Morioka Interchange, it is easily accessible. All courses, which mainly feature straight ones with slight slopes, can be reached from the gondola in the center. In addition, the children’s course makes it a ski area that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Equipment is also available for rent.

    様々な雪像があり凄く楽しいです。また、スキー場も隣接しており、スポーツ後に見ることもできるのでおすすめです。

    Genbikei is a valley of the Iwai River originating in Mt. Kurikoma and flowing to Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture. Dynamic landscapes such as waterfalls, strangely shaped and magical rocks continue for two kilometers. The specialty of Genbikei is of course the Kakko-dango Dumplings. When ordering and paying, you place your money in a basket attached to a rope stretched to the other side. After sounding a wooden hammer, the basket is pulled up and the dumplings and tea are delivered in return instead. Fun to watch, and delicious to eat.

    This limestone cave has been forming for about 350 million years. Deep in the cave is a mystical and beautiful emerald green underwater lake. It is also a treasure trove of Japanese fossils including whole trilobites and ancient coral.

    ゆっくり見れました。 比較的短い鍾乳洞 中は一般的な照明のみでカラーのライトアップなどはないです。 アップファウンの有るコースと平らなコースに分かれている。 見学料金は大人1100円でした。 お高めだけどノンビリ雰囲気を味わいながら進むと良いです。 入り口と出口は別です。 天井は少し低いのでツバの有る帽子は注意が必要です。
