    A roadside station situated amidst the lush natural beauty of Lake Nijinoko, a dam lake formed by the Tohoku region's largest dam, Aseishigawa Dam. The grounds of the station have been turned into a park where you can enjoy outdoor activities; the park's numerous facilities include a lakeside rest house, sports garden, barbecue area, and playground area with huge play equipment. There is a free rest area right next to the parking area. The lakeside rest house has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal while taking in a view of the lake as well as a shop carrying local specialty products and light meals, making this station a great place to take a break while driving through the area.

    A roadside station opened in 2004 which serves as a tourism information center for Tohoku Town. Many tourists driving through the area stop here to take a break. The grounds host a farm-fresh shop selling Chinese yams and garlic-local specialty products-as well as other fresh vegetables. The farm-fresh restaurant serves local dishes made with local farm products. Particularly popular are the basket clam ramen, made with a broth created using fresh basket clams from Lake Ogawara; and the Mt. Hakkoda soft serve ice cream, made with milk from Tohoku Town.

In the station's studio, you can try your hand at making traditional crafts such as Nanbu sakiori textiles.

    十和田市には国道4号沿いと国道102号沿いの2ヶ所に道の駅がありますが、そのうち国道4号沿いの方になります。岩手競馬の場外馬券売場が併設されているせいか駐車場は広めです。

    A roadside station located in Yokohama Town, which has the largest area dedicated to growing canola flowers, known as nanohana in Japanese, in the country. In Nanohana Plaza, you can buy canola flower donuts, vegetables picked that morning, and Japanese scallops from Mutsu Bay. The station's unique building was also modeled after a Japanese scallop.

    お昼ごはんを食べに寄りました。 生のホタテ丼が食べたかったのですが、ここのはホタテフライをたまごでとじた丼でした。 ホタテは大きく肉厚で美味しかったです。

    A roadside station with a restaurant offering an abundant selection of local dishes made with local ingredients. This popular station also has a shop selling renowned Aomori Prefecture souvenirs and farm-fresh produce, and an apple orchard where you can pick apples called Namioka Apple Hill. Fresh apple picking is offered from early September to early November. Apple picking is closed when the maximum number of visitors allowed is reached and thus a reservation is required.

    道の駅なみおかアップルヒルに併設されているレストラン、初めて利用しました。 想像していた以上にメニューが多く迷ってしまいましたがやはり青森ということでラーメンとミニ牛バラ丼のセット(900円・税別)をいただきました。 ボリュームもありお得なセット、おすすめです。

    This roadside station is notable for the Former Tomabechi Residence, an old, thatched roof Japanese-style home standing on the station's grounds which has been restored and which is designated an Important Cultural Property by the town. The station has a shop selling local town specialty products and farm-fresh produce, a restaurant where you can enjoy dishes made with Rokunohe Town-grown vegetables, and a facility which engages in research and demonstrations regarding agricultural and livestock processing. At the research facility, anyone can try making their own original processed foods using agricultural products. Application required.

    ニンニクの一粒がでっかい。この辺の道の駅ではニンニクの形が綺麗でした。全体的にはこじんまりしてますがその分静かです。野菜等は少なく加工品が多い感じ。梅干しが綺麗で安い。

    A roadside station located in Minmaya, a village deeply connected to legends relating to the mighty samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune and where one can still find many intriguing traces linking to Yoshitsune throughout the village. The station is adjoined by the Seikan Tunnel Museum and a facility presenting the science of the Tappi Wind Park. The station has a shop selling local products and produce, the well-reviewed Ajisai restaurant serving seafood and other dishes. The shop's Minmaya Kombu kelp and Minmaya Wakame seaweed, grown in the tidal currents of the Tsugaru Strait, are particularly popular.

    道の駅として独立はしておらず、青函トンネル記念館に道の駅としての機能を加えた施設です。土産品売り場はありますが、道の駅としてみると少々寂しい感じですね。

    This roadside station is connected to Tsugaru-Futamata Station on the Tsugaru Line, right next to Okutsugaru-Imabetsu Station on the Hokkaido Shinkansen. Along with tourism information about Imabetsu Town, there is an introduction of the town, a Tsugaru peninsula exhibition corner, a market where local produce is sold, and restaurants. We recommend Mozuku Udon, which uses Imabetsu's specialty mozuku seaweed. We would also recommend the steak and yakiniku using Imabetsu-raised beef. You can also try the menu made with meat from the Okutsugaru Boar Farm.

    北海道新幹線の秘境駅、奥津軽いまべつ駅に隣接する道の駅のレストランです。今別サーモン丼をおいしくいただきました。近くで食事ができる場所は非常に限られていますので、貴重なレストランです。

Visitors can also try making their own handmade soba noodles here.

    南郷は、蕎麦で有名らしい。新蕎麦が出たばかりで、販売会を行っていた。650円で山菜蕎麦を食べた。言うほど、美味しくはなかった。

    Located next to the Kawauchi Dam and Lake Kawauchi, considered one of the 100 most beautiful dam lakes in the country, this is the northernmost roadside station on the island of Honshu. The facility has a restaurant where you can eat keiran sweet bean paste-filled rice cakes and other local dishes as well as soba noodles and cuisine made with highland vegetables and other local ingredients. There's also an observatory and a shop selling local specialty products from Kawauchi Town. The surrounding area is maintained as a nature park called Lakeside Park built around Kawauchi Dam, and here you can enjoy beautifully seasonal natural scenery.

    大間崎から海峡ラインをひたすら走り、疲れた頃にちょうど良い休憩ポイントです。地元の野菜の直売もあり、この日は立派なゴボウと長芋を数百円で購入できました。

    Lake Jusanko has been designated a National Historic Site and is also said to produce the most delicious Japanese basket clams in the country. This roadside station, located on the grounds of a highland farm on the shore of the lake, is a scenic and soothing space; the station's terrace has a sweeping view of Lake Jusanko and a park on the station's grounds called Mobayashi Park is outfitted with a forest walking path. You can also buy souvenirs and farm-fresh products here as well.

    15時過ぎに訪問しましたが、シジミラーメンが食べたくて、注文しました。スープを飲むとシジミの出汁がきいているのと、シジミの数が多く、身まですべていただきました。帰りにはシジミを宅急便で送り、道の駅を跡にしました。

The station's Shikisai-kan hall sells local specialty products. You can enjoy Lake Towada Japanese beef in the Mirai-kan hall, and local beers in the Oirase Bakushu-kan. Signature dairy products are sold in the Miraku Kobo building. The station also has parking which can accommodate large vehicles. Be sure to stop by when travelling through the area.
