"A highland sprawling at the foot of the Hakkoda Mountain Range which is used as a space for rest and relaxation by local residents. The area is famous for its ""sanbaicha"" (literally ""three cups of tea""), which is said to grant one three extra years of life with one cup, six extra years of life with two cups, and long life lasting until the day you die with three cups, and various rest areas in the highland serve this tea for free. The highland is a great place to relax and enjoy the fall foliage of the Hakkoda Mountains in autumn."

Centuries-old stories of samurai at Kakunodate and the remains of millennia-old archaeological sites including the likes of Isedotai invite history buffs to delve into Aomori’s fascinating history. As the most northern prefecture on the Japanese mainland, Aomori enjoys a cooler climate, which makes it a welcome escape from the southern cities for combining castles, art galleries, and summer festivals with the great outdoors.
