    This club that plans and carries out guided tours to fully enjoy Lake Towada. Guided by a guide who knows all about Towada Lake, you can have more than your fill of the comfortable and historical Lake Towada.
  • Juniko (Twelve Lakes) Walking Trails

    Juniko Walking Trails offer a full experience of the seasonal colors of Shirakami-Sanchi and with its few slopes and well-maintained woodchip trails it’s easy to walk as well. The scenery cleanses the soul with, beautiful ponds, ancient Japanese Judas trees and beeches dotting the woods, and one of Japan’s 100 Best Springs, Wakitsubo no Ike pond. The trails are open from early April to late November. It’s an hour drive from JR Juniko Station.
  • Hakkoda Gourd Line

    The Hakkoda Gourd Line walking course with its well-maintained trails and easy walking got its name from its calabash-like shape. There are two routes, one taking 30 minutes and the other taking 60, but both offer a wonderful chance to enjoy the wetland and alpine plant scenery. It’s relatively easy to walk, but make sure you wear comfortable shoes. It’s about 40 minute drives from the Tohoku Expressway Kuroishi Interchange to the Hakkoda Ropeway.
  • Kawauchi River Valley Hiking Trail

    This valley is said to be one of the most picturesque destinations on the Shimokita Peninsula. Following the Kawauchi River, the valley has been outfitted with a 4.4 kilometer long walking path and visitors can enjoy fresh verdure in spring and summer as well as fall foliage in autumn. The walking path cross the Ajisai Bridge (a suspension bridge), Sekirei Bridge (an arch bridge), and Asunaro Bridge (a cable-stayed bridge). There are many observatory points along the path, as well, making it a great destination to enjoy a leisurely scenic hike.
