    A rose garden in a spacious urban park in Iwamizawa City. Some 630 varieties of European and Japanese roses and 9,000 individual plants are cultivated on the 40 thousand hectare grounds. Due to the abundant variety and differing blooming periods, visitors can enjoy rose blossoms from the beginning of spring around March to early autumn around October. A rose festival is held here every June along with a variety of events. In the garden's restaurant, you can eat authentic Napoli pizza baked in a real stone oven.

    岩見沢駅近くの岩見沢ターミナルからバスで15分ほど。ただしバスの本数は少ない。 丘陵地に設けられた広大な公園で、遊園地(北海道グリーンランド)、キャンプ場、科学館などがあり、冬場にはスキー場も開設されるようである。園内にあるバラ園を見学するために訪れたが、残念ながら8月はバラ開花のすき間の時期だったのでわずかな花しか見ることができなかった。

    The park is visited by about 100,000 people a year. 24 hectares of land, about five times the size of Sapporo Dome, is equipped with a zoo with free admission, a BBQ plaza, a campground, and a playground, etc. The safety-conscious combination playground equipment is popular for allowing even small children to play safely. At the SL Plaza located on the west side of the park, visitors can take commemorative photos with a real SL train in the background.

    This comprehensive park is located in part of a national forest. Visitors can enjoy nature such as the virgin forest marshland. The hilly land of the adventure forest has more than 20 spots and the adventure playground offers a range of activities for all ages and athletic ability. You can enjoy nature and relax on the benches or huts at the open spaces in the center of the forest and rest area. You can view the growth of the forest and open spaces from the observation desk, which is connected to a four-kilometer-long walking path around the edge of the park. Come across insects and plants as you walk along.

    This playfield in Sunagawa City, Hokkaido has an underground labyrinth and a giant athletic jungle gym. The BBQ areas come equipped with a food prep station and running water. Come enjoy your time outdoors. Small scale reproductions of the Seven Wonders of the World including the great pyramid and the leaning tower of Pisa have also been erected on site.

    国道２３４号沿い。入場無料の「なかよし動物園」や遊具、ＳＬ、バーベキュー・キャンプサイトのほか、野球場、テニスコートも隣接。駐車場完備。栗山町といえば栗山監督。栗山監督応援花壇も小綺麗に整備されています。栗チャン大好きオヤジも是非足を運んでみては如何？

    こちらは、旧三笠駅を思い出させる駅舎・跨線橋が残されており、貴重な列車が展示されていました。（学生時代の頃乗った「おおぞら」が懐かしかったです。 この公園には、屋大ステージとステージ前の芝生が綺麗でした。 また、公園の名称は、北海道に鉄道技術を伝えたアメリカ人技師ジョセフ・ユリー・クロフォード氏に由来しているそうです。

    札幌からのちょっとしたドライブ先に適した距離。新しく作られた迫力のあるダムがあり、夏は緑、秋は紅葉を見ることができ気持ちがいい場所。スピード出し過ぎに注意。
