Kanikichi aims to provide crab at reasonable prices so everyone can enjoy this delicious treat. Kanikichi serves its crab in a variety of styles, including sashimi, parboiled, boiled, and more. There are also hearty menu options like crab shabushabu and crab sukiyaki hotpots. The restaurant serves exceptionally reasonably priced options during lunch.

Service was painfully slow - 30 minutes for a sashimi plate and 25 minutes + a reminder before I got the beer I ordered. When it did come the sashimi was decidedly mediocre and unreasonably priced...

In March of 2016 this building was remodeled to become the Japanese confectionery Kitakaro's Main Shop in Sapporo. Originally called the Gyokei Memorial Hokkaido Public Library, it was built in 1926; it was later known as an art museum. The first floor is a shop designed on a salon theme. It displays the work of the painter Kotaro Migishi. The open atrium on the second floor features a cafe where guests can enjoy lunch and sweets while browsing among their roughly 6,000 books. Items only available at this shop include their classic chocolate cake and chocolate sandwich cookies; their croissant cream puffs are available in limited quantities. From the menu, their Kitakaro Jiman-no-Omurice rice omelets come recommended.

Right next to the Sapporo Clock Tower, on clear days one can enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace while listening to the chimes of the bell at this cafe. With the motto of providing 'the best coffee to enrich the soul,' they pride themselves in their raw beans that are discriminatingly selected for their flavor, roasted directly over a bincho charcoal flame, and then flannel-filter dripped served fresh. Offering an ample food menu as well, one can select a choice of ingredients for a real deli sandwich, or have a season torte or a softy cream made only from farm fresh delivered milk.

札幌時計台のすぐ横にあるカフェです。地下の吹抜けみたいな場所に面しているので、隠れ家的な感じで落ち着けるカフェです。コーヒーも美味しかったのですが、サイドメニューのケーキも美味しかったです！テラス席もあるので3密も回避できるので、いいカフェだと思います。

A steak restaurant where you can enjoy hearty slabs of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and even dear meat in a designer space reminiscent of old America created with lots of iron and wood. Particularly recommended is the restaurant's signature shallow-fried Ikeda beef, a Hokkaido brand wagyu Japanese beef variety. A proprietary technique is used to give the beef a crisp outer flavor crust while keeping the inside moist and rare so that diners can enjoy the innate flavor of the red meat. This small Izakya pub next to the Sapporo Clock Tower seats only 20. One can enjoy fresh sashimi, crab, urchin, scallops, and other seafood dishes with some sake, selected from their myriad supply. The salt-water bafun urchin, harvested from Hamanaka in the eastern region of Hokkaido during winter to spring, is highly recommended. From spring, it is the hair crab season. The spring kegani (hair crab) called 'ryuhyo-ake kegani (melting iceberg hair crab)' is particularly a specialty. However, because they are prepared once the order is placed, reservations are a must for both the urchin and kegani dishes. Reservations are recommended for the other dishes too. Party and course menus are available including all-you-can eat and drink courses.

This soup curry shop is nearby the Sapporo Clock Tower. This famous store has endless lines in the afternoon, and the inside feels warm with its woody interior. The balance of spices in the soup curry is exquisite and there are three kinds: light, tomato and rich. After selecting the type of curry, you can choose your preference of main ingredients such as chicken and shrimp, the spiciness, amount of rice and toppings. All of the curry has plenty of vegetables cut into big pieces. The Sakutto Pica chicken, with crispy fried chicken legs, is a popular dish.

This bakery shop in Sapporo opened in 2012, and is run by the grand chef Katsuei Shiga, from Signifiant Signifie, a healthy bakery. It has developed its own bread that uses only 100% Hokkaido wheat and other local products from Hokkaido. They have a wide range of baked goods characteristic to each branch, including hard, sweet and dinner breads. At the main store, their Pain Au Vin is sold only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and uses plenty of figs, cranberries, pistachios and walnuts. The extravagant breads that are like candy go perfectly with coffee or wine.
