    Hokkaido Obihiroshi Inadachou East 2-6
A garden of approximately 79,000 square meters open to the public which is also a farm importing, producing and selling trees, operated by “Manabe Garden Nurseries”. It is well-known for its production of conifers, unusual in Japan. The garden has three differently themed areas—a European garden, a Japanese garden and a landscaped garden for you to stroll around. We hope you enjoy the scenery which is as magical as if you were lost in a fairytale land.

Big garden with many varieties of plants and trees. Typical Japanese landscape including a children playground . Cafe is nicely decorated.

Hokkaido Asahikawashi Miyashitadori 7-9 Nijima Nijo 1
A huge garden sprawling the west side of Asahikawa Station, rather unusual in Japan. Serving as a pedestrian path connecting to the rest of the city, a flood plain splays on the south side with the Chubetsu River running through it. The garden itself is divided into several theme-based areas such as a grass garden, flower garden, and terrace. The garden's plants are maintained by dedicated gardeners and events are held here periodically.

A wetland in a watercourse leads to flower gardens and a childrens play area. It is just a couple of blocks from the main railway station and has toilets, a shop and a dining area. I did like the...

  • Rokka no Mori

Hokkaido Kasaigunnakasatsunaimura Tokiwa West 3 rd line 249 - 6
Rokka no Mori is a garden run by Rokkatei, a confectionery manufacturer closely associated with Hokkaido. A wide variety of flowers—including the “Six Flowers of Tokachi” that appear on Rokkatei confectionery wrappers—bloom in the garden at different times of year, making this an extremely beautiful place to visit. With the Naoyuki Sakamoto Commemorative Hall (dedicated to the artist who created the images seen on Rokkatei confectionery wrappers), several art galleries, and a rest house (with restaurant and shop), there is plenty to see and do as you enjoy strolling round the garden. Please note that Rokka no Mori is closed during the winter months.

This is a paid-entry garden in Yuni Town, Yubari County, Hokkaido. The all-you-can-eat restaurant offering healthy meals made with local vegetables is quite popular. Their Heartful Garden, called Hokkaido's 4th Holy Land of Love, is a popular date spot. You can enjoy four seasons of flowers like cherry blossom, toadflax, and cosmos, surrounded by English-style buildings.

Hokkaido Areas

around-area-map

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
