    This aquarium is in Noboribetsu. Built on the theme of Northern European Romance and Marine Fantasies, the symbol of the park is its castle modeled on Denmark's Egeskov Castle. In addition to the dolphin and seal show pools, the penguin hall and the king penguin walking route in front of the castle are popular. There's also a petting pool where visitors can touch skates and horseshoe crabs, a Ferris wheel, merry go round and other attractions throughout the park.

    This aquarium allows visitors to view the ecology of more than 250 types of animals and fish up close. Their diverse shows such as the dynamic dolphin and sea lion show as well as the Penguin Walk, during which penguins walk from their enclosure to the ocean, are immensely popular. The Marine Mammals Park runs along the natural rocky shore, and has partitioned the seawater tank to exhibit sea lions, seals, and sea eagles in a natural habitat. Hokkaido Chuo Bus takes visitors from JR Otaru Station to the aquarium.

The underwater observation zone, which gives visitors a close-up view of the waters of the Chitose River, is a must-see. Besides regular events, the Aquarium also hosts special limited-period events. Chitose Aquarium is located around 10 minutes’ drive from New Chitose Airport, and around 10 minutes’ walk from JR Chitose Station.

    Here at the Noshappu Aquarium, the northernmost aquarium in Japan which was the 100th aquarium to be built, you can see many sea creatures from the north. Things to see include the powerful 90 ton water tank and 600 Pacific herrings. Other recommended attractions are the seal show and animal feeding. From JR Wakkanai Station take the Soya bus towards Noshappu and get off at the Noshappu bus stop. The aquarium is a five-minute walk from the bus stop.

    An aquarium located in 6-Chome, Kita 1-jo Nishi, Shibetsu Town, Shibetsu County, Hokkaido Prefecture. The aquarium displays the fish that live in the Nemuro Strait with a focus on salmon, and, depending on the time of year, visitors can see salmon egg laying or use a viewing bridge on the grounds to watch salmon swimming upstream. In addition, visitors can pet rare Japanese huchen and sturgeon. Panels, models, and videos provide information on the ecology of salmon.

    This marine mammal conservation facility is located in Kaiyo-koen, Mombetsu City. Over 20 animals from two types of seal (spotted and ringed seals) are raised here, and there are four outdoor ponds and ten indoor ones. The seals can be observed swimming in the underwater behavior observation room from a large window, and you can interact and feed them, and hear about their behavior in the seal plaza.

    The Kita no Daichi no Aquarium, which is the first in Japan to have a waterfall basin tank, lets you experience riverside living creatures from the great northern land. Please enjoy a look at the freshwater fish from around the world raised on Onne's water. From JR Rubeshibe Station, it takes about 20 minutes by bus headed for Roadside Station Onneyu Onsen. Get off at the final stop and walk two minutes. It is about 2 hours 20 minutes by car from the Asahikawa Airport.
