Tokyo Minato-ku Shibakouen 4-2-8

This is a full-purpose radio tower in Shiba Park in Minato City, Tokyo. The tower began operating in 1958, and has remained as a landmark symbol of Tokyo, receiving many tourists from both in and out of Japan every year. Reaching 333 meters at its apex, the tower has a main observation deck at 150 meters, and a top deck at 250 meters, providing a panoramic view of the greater Tokyo area. The lighting of the tower, changed seasonally in various colors, is popular with many. A commercial complex, the Foot Town, is arrayed with souvenir, character goods, and eatery shops at the base of the tower.

I did enjoy going up this tower to the top. The views were very impressive. It is well run with many friendly staff. A must do in Tokyo.

Osaka Osakashi Naniwa-ku Ebisuhigashi 1-18-6

A viewing tower located in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City and a famous Osaka landmark. Originally erected in 1912 and modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the current 108 meter tower is actually the second Tsutenkaku. The fourth and fifth floors are a viewing floor overlooking Osaka. There are figures of the Seven Gods of Fortune on the fifth floor as well as a statue of Billiken which is said to bring good luck when the soles of its feet are rubbed. The tower is filled with other interesting things to see and do, including the Kinnikuman Museum; a café produced by Mother Farm; and showroom shops by Morinaga, Glico, and Nisshin.

I suspect by modern standards the tower is not high enough, glitzy enough, not extreme. There is no glass floor or really scary experience but for someone a bit nervous of heights this place is...

Located in Oshiage, Sumida City, this is a 634-meter tall broadcasting tower with an observatory that became Tokyo's new symbol when it opened in 2012. There are actually two observatories, the Tembo Deck at 350 meters above ground and the Tembo Galleria that is 450 meters high. The Tembo Galleria has tube-shaped glass walls, giving you the sensation that you are strolling through the sky as you gaze out at Tokyo's daytime and night-time scenery. At the base of the tower is Tokyo Skytree Town, a facility that is more like a shopping mall with stores and restaurants.

This is an observation deck in Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. It overlooks TOKYO SKYTREE, Tokyo Tower, the Odaiba area, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, etc., and Mt. Fuji and Boso Peninsula in Chiba can also be seen when the weather is fine. It has varying charm from day, sunset and at night, and many visitors return time and again. Exhibitions and events are also held in the indoor observation gallery space, “Sky Gallery”, on the 52nd floor. The nearest station is Roppongi Station.

A 131-meter-tall tower located in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Visitors can gaze out over a 360-degree panorama of the streets of the ancient capital of Kyoto from the observation deck 100 meters above the ground. “Tawawa-chan Shrine,” the tower’s cute shrine-cum-mascot, can also be found in the observation deck. The building at the tower’s base contains a hotel, café, restaurants, and sky lounge. There’s also a day trip bath house which opens at 7 am and which is popular with travelers arriving via the night bus. Built as a place to promote Aomori’s local products in 1986, this facility also introduces guests to local industry and folk entertainment. The origin of the name ASPAM comes from the initials in a direct English translation of the facility’s Japanese name, which becomes Aomori, Sightseeing, Products, Mansion. From the observatory on the 13th floor visitors can enjoy a view of the urban center of Aomori, the Shimokita, Tsugaru, and Natsudomari peninsulas, Mutsu Bay, and the Aomori Bay Bridge. Be sure to take in the incredible 360-degree panoramic view.

Just visited this building to get some souvenirs. It was very quiet and I ended up buying stuff in and close to the station! You could hear Nebuta festivals music in the building which was great!

An excursion style promenade installed on the girders of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in a corner of Maiko Park a five-minute walk from Maiko Station on the JR San'yo Main Line and Sanyo Electric Railway Maiko-koen Station. The 317-meter long promenade is positioned 47 meters above the surface of the ocean below. The walkway is modeled after an old-fashioned log bridge and features glass window floors on either side of a log, enabling visitors can enjoy a thrilling aerial walk high above the ocean in perfect safety. Information on the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is presented in the first-floor entranceway area. A camera system in the eighth-floor observation lounge enables visitors to experience what the view is like at the top of the one of the 300-meter-tall bridge's towers.

Goro Sky Tower is located in one of Maizuru's best locations where you can relax and enjoy the lush natural scenery. With a 360-degree view of Maizuru Bay (Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park) and its beautiful rias coastline, along with the Maizuru cityscape, it's well known as a spot for observing unkai (cloud seas) from October until February.

The Goryokaku Tower is an observation tower located near the entrance of the Goryokaku Park, and the current tower is the second one to be built here. You can see almost all of Goryokaku from the observation floor, which is at a height of 107 meters. Inside the tower, a special display allows you to learn about the history of Goryokaku. In addition, there is the “see-through floor,” where you can see directly below you through a tempered glass floor as well as a shop where you can buy original Goryokaku goods.
