Tochigi Pref. Nikkoushi Kinugawaonsentaki 834

A ropeway for tourists located in the Kinugawa Onsen hot spring resort village. The ropeway connects Kinugawaonsen-Sanroku Station at the base of a large hill to a scenic overlook at its summit. Also known as “Osaru no Yama” (“Monkey Mountain”), several Japanese macaques are kept at the scenic overlook. Visitors can purchase food to give to the monkeys. Onsen-jinja Shrine stands at the rear of the scenic overlook and enshrines a portion of the deity which the Toyokawa Inari-jinja shrine houses. Viewed as a god of both business prosperity and hot springs, many locals come here to pray for good luck.

A large cage filled with relaxed looking monkeys and nothing else. Walking path was closed due to bear threat. 5 minute activity but costs around 1000 yen.

Kanagawa Pref. Ashigarashimogunhakonemachi Goura 1300 Hayasunzan Station

This is an aerial lift which connects all the stations from Sounzan to Owakudani, Ubako and Togendai and takes about 25 minutes. The stations of Sounzan and Togendai are located at an elevation of over 700 meters above sea level. Owakudani Station also reaches an altitude of 1,044 meters above sea level, so you can enjoy a walk in the sky to see the beautiful Mt. Fuji, the Owakudani sulfur fields and the large panoramic picturesque scenery looking out over of Lake Ashi. If it is a clear day, Tokyo Skytree may also be visible.

Built on 497 meter tall Mt. Hodo, the Hodosan Ropeway connects the 832 meters between Sanroku Station at the foot and Sancho Station at the summit. During the five minute ride, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nagatoro from the air. Starting with kanzakura cold weather cherries which reach peak bloom in late November, you can enjoy spectacular flowering plants here through to mid-June, including Japanese allspice, Japanese apricot, pheasant’s eye, cherry trees, azaleas, and rhododendrons. In autumn, the fall foliage is stunning.

子供が宝登山小動物園を楽しみにしていたので、ロープウェイに乗りました。とにかく眺めが良く、子供は大喜びです^_^ 乗車時間は5分ほどでしたが、秩父の自然を堪能できます。山頂駅から眺める長瀞の街並みは絶景でした！

Hokkaido Otarushi Mogami 2-16-15

The ropeway connects Mt. Tengu, the symbol of Otaru, from the foot of the mountain to the summit in about four minutes. In the daytime you can see views of Otaru City looking like a miniature garden below, Otaru port and Ishikari Bay, and on clear days you can see as far Mt. Shokanbetsu and the Shakotan Peninsula. The observation deck at the summit has been awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide to Japan. In the evening, you can enjoy the beautiful night views of Otaru, said to be one of the top three night views in Hokkaido. Enjoy a nostalgic evening with views over the city like jewels sparkling in the night.

Cool little ski area. Some quite challenging terrain to be found. Also nice bit of gentle area for learners. Easy access on a bus from Otaru.

Fukushima-ken Nihonmatsu-shi Okudake Onsen

A toll ropeway 1,505.54 meters long located on Mt. Adatara in Nihonmatsu City. Riders get a sweeping view of the Adatara and Zao mountain ranges. The station at the top of the mountain has an observatory and park and many people come here to go hiking. The ropeway operates from late April to November.

生駒に宝山寺があり歓喜天がお祀りされています。八栗寺にも歓喜天がお祀りされていました。どちらもケーブルカーで登ります。妙に似ていると思いました。ケーブルカーのBGMは行きがドド演歌で帰りは喜多郎のシルクロードのテーマ曲でした。どういう選曲なんだろう ?

This ropeway extends from Higashi-ogawa, Katashina Village, Tone County to a 2,000-meter-high point on Mt. Nikko-Shirane. It is 2,500 meters long in total and has a 600-meter difference in elevation, and it takes about 15 minutes to cross one way. In addition, the limited-time “ropeway night cruise” and “sunset cruise” offer wonderful views of the night sky. The valuable “family pack” includes two adult tickets and one elementary school children’s ticket, and there’s also a “super-value pack” that includes entry to a hot spring.

このロープウェイがあるおかげで登山が楽になります。登山しない人もロープウェイの上の景色は特別。登山のために、もう少し早い時間からロープウェイが動くといいな、とは思う。

Nigata Pref. Minamiuonumashi Yamaguchi 1610

This ropeway can be found at Muikamachi Hakkaisan Ski Resort, approximately 20 minutes by car from the Kan-etsu Expressway's Muikamachi Interchange. Its charm lies in the 360-degree panoramic view from the gondola. Especially in the fall, it is a well-known sightseeing spot for people wanting to see the autumn leaves, which cover the whole mountainside. The ropeway stretches from the station at the foot of the mountain at an elevation of 376 meters, to the mountain peak station at 1,147 meters. In the mountain climbing season, it is also possible to climb to the peak of Mt. Hakkai, one of Echigo's three peaks.

１1月５日に行きました。昨日の寒波で頂上駅は１５センチほど雪が残り、おかげで紅葉と雪が一緒に見られラッキーでした。なお、車椅子でもゴンドラには問題なく乗れますが、駅構内の平な場所しか移動はできません。

This ropeway links Yumoto Station with Tengendai Kogen Station on Sumomoyama. It carries passengers up 400 meters in about five minutes. The shop at the station sells Kogen Soft Ice Cream, coffee and tea made with Azuma natural spring water, and round konnyaku, a famous local product. From the windows of the ropeway cars, visitors can see the Iide Mountain Range and other natural wonders in the surrounding area.

紅葉の見頃だと聞き、ロープウェイで標高1,350mの天元台高原まで登った。さらにリフト3本つないで1,820mまで登れるそうだが、上の斜面には雪が張り付いているし、結構な寒さなので眺めるだけにした。お目当ての紅葉ばあまりパッとしない。地元の人の話では「夏場に雨が多かったので今年はまったくダメ！」とのこと。期待通りにはいかなかったが、それでも下界では味わえない山の紅葉を楽しめた。

A ropeway located a 10 minute walk from the Yunoyamaonsen bus stop on Mie Kotsu bus lines. From the ropeway's gondolas, riders can enjoy the seasonal scenery of Mt. Gozaisho, including rhododendrons and other flowers in spring, fall foliage in autumn, and frost covered trees in winter. Many unusual rock formations dot the mountain, as well as the tallest steel tower in Japan, and this variegated scenery ensures riders will be entertained from journey start to end. There's a mountaintop restaurant with a gorgeous view as well as a souvenir shop at the end. Events are also held at the top such as stamp rallies and birdwatching classes.

This ropeway located a five-minute drive from Yuzawa Interchange connects Echigo-Yuzawa hot springs town with the Yuzawa Kogen Alps no Sato. Yuzawa Kogen Alps no Sato is a leisure complex with a number of attractions including trekking, zip-line adventures, and more. The 1,300-meter-long ropeway takes seven minutes to reach the top. The size of each cable cars of two cable cars, among the world's largest, is the size of two busses. Up to 166 people can ride in either the red Alpen Flora or the blue White Spur. Take in the great views of the seasonal scenery of Yuzawa Kogen from the cable cars' big windows as you enjoy a graceful stroll through the air.

越後湯沢駅を出て、数分、北へ向かって歩く。すると、湯沢高原ロープウェイの山麓駅がある。ここから、ロープウェイに乗れる。ぐんぐん上がってゆくロープウェイの窓から、越後湯沢駅や湯沢町の中心街がよく見える。それから、窓から綺麗な木々の葉も見える。眺めを楽しんでいるうちに、山の上にある駅に着く。駅の近くからは、遠くの雪山が見える。ここは絶景が楽しめる。眺めが良く、良い思い出が残った

Yamagata Yamagata-shi Zao Onsen 794

This ropeway runs through Zao Onsen. It covers 1,636 meters, with an elevation difference of 342 meters, from Uwanodai Station in the onsen town, to Chuokogen Station. One of the Three Divinities of Zao, Zao Daigongen, is enshrined in front of Chuokogen Station, and there is a hiking trail taking in several sights like Dokkonuma pond.

The monorail is located in the mountains of Oku-Iya and is said to be the world's longest monorail for sightseeing, with a total length of 4,600 m, a height difference of 590 m, a maximum gradient of 40 degrees, and a peak elevation of 1,380 m. Because it travels at the same speed as a person walking, you can enjoy forest bathing as if you were mountain climbing. Tickets for the ride will be sold out as soon as they are sold out (reservations are not accepted), so it is advisable to arrive early to purchase your tickets.

We decided to try it out because mountain monorail sounded interesting, although that was about all we knew about it. Before we got there, I expected it to be enjoyable but that Y2000 per person...

This is Japan's largest herb gardens which are located in Kobe City. This vast site holds about 75,000 herbs and seasonal flowers of about 200 varieties which bloom in profusion. There is a medieval times old fortress style rest house, a rose garden with about 60 varieties of roses planted, a garden terrace and a garden for all four seasons, etc. In addition, there are a restaurant where you can taste buffet-style herb cuisine and an open cafe. You can also enjoy illuminations along with night views during evening opening hours.

This aerial tramway is located in Nikko City. It takes passengers from Akechidaira to an observation deck located at an altitude of 1,373 meters in about three minutes. Called a ropeway, this aerial tram connects the Onsen Station of Yamagata Zao Onsen hot springs to the Torikabuto Station. The large gondolas, with a 101 person capacity, move the distance of 1,787 meters, rising 524 meters in just seven and a half minutes. One can enjoy the natural beauty of Mt. Zao, and visit the Torikabuto observatory just one minute from the Torikabuto Station that overlooks all of Kaminoyama City.

コロナ脳が酷いです。ノーマスクの女性客の腕をつかんで強制的に降ろされたそうです。しかも頂上に上がって、降りるときはノーマスクでも何も言わない。最低です。

This ropeway connects Asahidake Onsen (1,100 meters above sea level) to the Fifth Station at 1,600 meters above sea level. It is located at the foot of Asahidake, the highest peak in Hokkaido. Visitors can enjoy a massive 360-degree panorama over the course of this ten-minute air walk. The ropeway is one of the main sightseeing spots in Asahidake, where visitors can enjoy views of the changing seasons, such as the white skunk cabbage and the melting snow as it flows towards the wetlands in the spring, and see the alpine plants in full bloom on the summit of the mountain in the summer. A ropeway which travels between Fuchi Jinja Station in Fuchi-machi, Nagasaki City and Inasa Dake Station near the top of Mt. Inasa.
