Serving as a casting maker for the Nanbu clan for generations, it has been producing Nanbu ironware for 15 generations. In addition to tea pots, iron kettles and bottles used to warm sake, it also sells other small items such as saucers.

    At the Ishikawa Prefecture Designated traditional crafts “Kanazawa Paulownia Crafts” store and studio is a charming town house with a sign saying “Kiri Hibachi (Paulownia brazier)” as its landmark. Kanazawa Paulownia Craft is charred paulownia wood bark covered in a rust mixture of polishing powder and lacquer and is characterized by patterns of gold or silver powder, called “Taka-Makie.” The most popular items are “Chokotto tray” which are decorated with a single, lovely makie design. In addition, tea ceremony items, paulownia braziers, ashtrays, sweet bowls and various paulownia craftworks are available. The nearest station is Kanazawa Station.

Akizuki Washi Japanese paper is a traditional craft that dates back to the Edo period and is still made using the same traditional techniques. Along with selling Washi and goods made with Washi paper they also offer hands-on paper making classes (reservation required).

    旧秋月街道から少し入ったところにあります。紙漉きの体験もできます。朝倉高校の卒業証書を作っているそうです。和紙の卒業証書、それも地元のもの、素晴らしいことです。

    普段はあまりシードルを飲みませんが、折角青森に来たのでこちらで頂きました。種類もあり、味比べもできます。お土産にも購入しましたが、それぞれ、風味が違ってよかったです。

    何だか難しそう…と思っていた絞り体験ですが、やってみると意外に簡単に出来ました。こちらのご主人が丁寧に教えてくれます。店内にはさすが職人技❗️と思わせる精巧な絞り作品が沢山展示・販売されています。とある世界的な有名日本人デザイナーも参考にした絞り作品もありました。

    This Ryukyu ingido dyeing workshop is located in Motobu Town, Okinawa Prefecture. It sells clothing, shop curtains, tapestries, and other items made with cloth that has been carefully resist-dyed using mud and indigo dye made from dyer's knotweed leaves. Visitors can also casually try ingido dyeing a hand towel or handkerchief. It is even possible to bring and dye your own cotton or hemp T-shirts, blouse, or other items. The workshop's attached cafe serves organic coffee, black tea, and homemade juices, as well as cheesecakes made with seasonal fruit and open sandwiches.

They use traditional Edo period techniques used to dye Japanese fisherman's celebratory kimonos known as Maiwaigi to make the maiwai-shiki tairyo bata flags flown for fishing boat launching ceremonies. These flags have been designated an official Chiba Prefecture Traditional Craft. Today they're also given as celebratory gifts. They can be made to order.

    A one-minute walk from the Aizu Bus Kogyodanchiiriguchi bus stop. This studio is the only one in the country which carries only wooden lacquerware. Aizu lacquerware developed in large part thanks to the Gamo Ujisato, lord of Aizu, supporting it as a local industry in 1590. The Aizu lacquerware industry fell into decline for a time after the Boshin War, but today this lacquerware studio continues to preserve the traditions of the craft while also promoting its evolution in line with the times. As the establishment sells its wares directly, visitors can purchase pieces such as lacquered soup bowls at low prices. The studio also offers a lacquerware repair service. In addition, the studio offers tours which enable participants to watch lacquerware artisans at work up close, and maki-e gold and silver lacquerware painting experiences in which participants can decorate and take home an exquisite piece of maki-e lacquerware the same day.

The shop's showcases contain around 100 cloisonne ware bracelets, pendants, tie pins, and other items at any given time. One time cloisonne ware classes are conducted in the studio area, and reservations are accepted starting from groups of four. Classes take between 30 minutes and two hours. Sakamori Shippo Kogeiten also holds more serious classes four times a month for those with a deeper interest in the craft.

    This historic building is located in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. Built 150 years ago, this old merchant house has been renovated, keeping the weight and appearance of the building by volunteers from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and maintained as a tourist facility with an experience workshop and food sales. There are eight different parts to the building, with many different stores including tourist information, a cafeteria, a hair salon and a cafe.

    This craft brewery was opened in 1996. The brewery creates only natural, authentic draft beer containing an abundance of beer yeast and polyphenol. Note that the lunch and party plans must be reserved at least one week in advance; lunch plans can be made for groups of two people or more, and party plans for groups of four or more.

    Located in Nakagiricho, Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, this is the oldest glass studio in the Tokai Area. They offer a variety of workshops, including glass blowing. Try your hand at making sandblasted accessories, tonbodama beads, rings, and pendants. You can also make some great memories creating paper weights and decorative glass paintings. Some workshops are available to kids as young as three. Besides individuals, friends, and families, groups of more than 15 visiting for school programs, local kids field trips, and other functions are also welcome.
