    Shiga Kusatsu-shi Kusatsu 3-10-37
    A 10-minute walk from JR Kusatsu Station. This longstanding sake company, established in 1874, can be reached by following the Tokaido Highway a short distance southwest from the Kusatsujuku Kaido Koryukan. The company was founded by the Ota family, whose members had served as barrier keepers for generations in Kusatsu, after the abolition of the han system. From the start, the company has made sakes using Omi rice, and today the company makes a wide array of alcoholic beverages, including shochus, wines, and liqueurs, in addition to Dokan, a brand of seishu refined sakes inspired by the famous Ota family samurai commander. The brand's Wataribune is particularly recommended. During the off season, visitors can tour the company's brewery with an advance reservation.

    草津の旧東海道ぞいにある酒蔵。旧本陣と立木神社の間にあります。旧東海道ぞいには古い町家がいくつか残っていますが、こちらもそのひとつ。道灌というお酒をつくっています。

    Several famous breweries and a portion of their storehouses which produced countless liters of seishu refined sake. There are also four museums - the Kaya Shirao-kan, Yumeji Kaiga-kan, Shuzo Shiryoshitsu, and Hokkoku Kaido Rekishi Shiryoshitsu. The current oldest brewery was established in the Horeki era, and there are also breweries from the Kansei, Keio, Meiji, and Taisho eras; visitors may freely view the breweries, as well. Portions of the museum exhibits are changed on a seasonal basis, and reviews note this is a valuable space where one can learn about folk culture.

    戸倉駅から国道に向かって5分くらいの所にあります。茅葺き屋根なのですぐ見つかります。お酒以外にも地元産の果物なども買えます。

    This longstanding alcoholic beverage brewery, established in 1900, stands on National Route 382 on the southern side of Iki Island a 10-minute drive from Gounoura Port and Indoji Port. Iki is said to be the birthplace of barley shochu, and the brewery continues to make Iki shochu according to a unique method. The brewery is famous for its Mugi Shochu Iki, which delights with the aroma of barley and the sweetness of koji malted rice at the same time; and Takiizumi, which was awarded a gold prize by the Monde Selection. There's also a free adjoining shochu museum where you can see exhibits on shochu and also sample and purchase shochu.

    "A sake brewery open to tourists situated along National Route 207 in Hama-machi, Kashima City. Situated along Sakagura-dori Street (a street lined with many old sake breweries) which has been designated a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, this particular brewery has been making sake for four generations. Visitors can view the brewery, experience Japan's bygone Showa period in the ""Showa Room,"" and check out sightseeing destinations on the street. The brewery also offers sake tastings and its direct sales shop sells limited run products."

    A sake brewery standing along the Ina Highway in Taguchi-machi-ura, Shitara Town, Kitashitara County. The brewery makes renowned sake varieties such as Horaisen and Meibo. The brewery's adjoining shop accepts reservations for limited quantity products and sells junmai daiginjo and tokubetsu junmai undiluted draft sake by volume.

    道の駅したらから車で5-6分ほど走ったあたり。愛知県では有名な日本酒、蓬莱泉を作る老舗の会社の本社の蔵。驚くほどこじんまりしてました。来客用駐車も数台しかありませんでした。容器(瓶)を選べる蓬莱泉の量り売りが、お洒落&リーズナブルで美味しかったです。店内スペースがとても狭いので蜜になりやすいのが難点かな。

The brewery makes and sells local beers in Daigo Town under the catchphrase, ""Local Daigo beers only drinkable in Daigo."" The quality and temperature of Daigo's spring water remains stable throughout the year, and it is used to make ""Yamizo Shinrin no Beer,"" a variety which has won much acclaim from local beer fans. The beer is offered in four types-a pilsner, weizenbier, helles, and special seasonal variety. Each is an exquisite beverage full-bodied and rich in flavor."

    お店は、ログハウスのような作りで、暖かい感じのお店です。 地ビールも何種類もあるので、楽しめるとおもいます。 お料理もビールにあったお料理で、とても美味しかったです。

    Kikuhime is a sake (rice wine) brewery located in Tsurugishin Town, Hakusan City. Kikuhime produces high-quality sake using rice that is all processed in-house; the brewery uses Yamada Nishiki rice grown in the Yoshikawa area, a rice variety that has been rated AAA+. Kikuhime’s sake is allowed to mature for just the right period of time before being shipped. This maturation period is three years for “Kurogin” sake, and 10 years or more for “Kukurihime” sake.

    "This shochu distillery with deep roots on Yakushima Island, the ""Alps of the Sea,"" has created handcrafted honkaku shochu in traditional earthenware pots since being founded in 1960. It is the only distillery that makes sweet potato shochu with sweet potatoes grown on Yakushima Island. Visitors can even watch the mashing process if they visit at the right time. The distillery uses 56 irreplaceable earthenware pots passed down since 1887 and the island's extremely soft water, which is listed amongst the Top 100 Famous Waters of Japan, to create shochu with a smooth taste and fine flavor."

    Short tour and explanation of production of Shōchū (焼酎) followed by tasting session afterward. Tour is in Japanese so you will require a translator.

    This sake company brewery is situated on the Koya Kaido in Nagano-cho, Kawachinagano City. The longstanding company, established in 1718, makes Amanosake, a local Kawachinagano sake, as well as foods and sweets which make use of sake lees and brewer's rice flour. The company also regularly holds guided brewery tours which include product tasting and a souvenir (reservation required). The dozo storehouse of the company's former store has been designated a national Tangible Cultural Property.

    A sake brewery located in Nishihayashiguchi Minakuchi-cho, Koka City. The brewery makes Yamahai-jikomi (natural yeast with no mashing) and Ginjo-jikomi (high quality, low fermentation) sakes and its products have received high acclaim at the Annual Japan Sake Awards and other national and international contests. Tours of the brewery, which has been in operation since the Meiji period, are available and visitors can taste sakes and purchase limited edition sakes in the brewery’s shop. The shop also sells limited edition sakes by volume once a month.

    旧東海道を石部から歩いてきて、水口に入ったところにあり、休憩と試飲で立ち寄りました。創業は大正時代ですが、江戸から続く酒蔵の雰囲気を出しています。歩きだったのでお手頃サイズを購入しました。

    This sake brewery is in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This historic sake brewery was founded in 1750, and uses underground water from Mt. Komagatake to finish the sake characterized by its clean, crisp taste. You can tour a number of historic buildings here, including the brewery, and the main building, called the Anzaisho, which was used as accommodations by the Meiji Emperor. The brewery also runs a restaurant focusing on local production for local consumption where can enjoy the sake with a meal.

There are five veteran breweries in the same part of town; known as the ""Suwa Gokura,"" they hold events like the Nomiaruki Brewery Crawl that let you purchase coupon tickets and wander the area tasting sake from the different establishments."

    訪れた時は試飲は中止していたので、ワンカップサイズを試しに買ってみました。 本金(ほんきん)の名前の由来は、左右対称のごとく、裏表のない商売で本当の金(=一番)を目指すと言う思いを込め、命名されたとの事です。

    A sake brewery established in the Edo period located a 10-minute walk from the north exit of JR Yuki Station. The brewery building was originally built in the Ansei era; this and the large brick chimney added on in the Meiji period are designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. Visitors can enjoy food along with Fukufuku, a traditional and renowned sake which has been brewed since the Edo period, served at various temperatures. Yuiyui, another of the brewery's famous sakes, is decorated with a design created by a local calligrapher depicting a thread ring surrounding the character for good fortune. Made with underground water from the Kinugawa River system, this sake is characterized by its mild flavor.

    結城市木町交差点近くにあり、井戸水を使った昔ながらの製法でお酒を造っている[結城酒造]さんになります。好適米「山田錦」を自家栽培して仕込んだ大吟醸酒『富久福』が、平成14年の全国新酒鑑評会で金賞を受賞しました。酒蔵は江戸時代に建てられたもので老舗の趣があり、常時見学できます(要予約)。

    Miyashita Brewery is located in Nishigawara, Naka Ward, in the city of Okayama. It is a destination brewery located inside Craft brewery Doppo-kan. It manufactures more than 15 kinds of craft beers, and along with the adjacent sake brewery and whiskey distillery, it offers tours (reservations required) that allow visitors to observe the manufacturing process. There are also a restaurant and a shop on the grounds.

    "This shochu ""dojo"" adjoins the breweries of Inoue-Syuzo and Sakuranosato-Syuzou. The dojo was opened with the aim of passing on the techniques of authentic shochu, a traditional industry in southern Kyushu. The dojo is a reproduction of a Meiji/Taisho period brewery and is made of Obi cedar, once a local specialty product. The dojo engages in the production of shochu year-round, making it possible for visitors to view the production process whenever they visit. Visitors can also participate in a shochu-making activity and blend together six varieties of shochu as they see fit to produce a one-of-a-kind, original shochu (advance reservation required)."

    "About 7 minutes from the Seitan Mihara IC on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway via Prefectural Route 31, this sake brewery is dedicated to creating excellent sake by adding new techniques while respecting traditional techniques. The ""Junmai Daiginjo MUGENDAI,"" made with a hanging tenbin press, and the ""Junmai Ginjo Wakamiya no Shizuku,"" a limited edition sake brewed with rice suitable for sake brewing grown by duck farming, are highly recommended."

    This is a small sake brewery established in 1912 located in Saijyouoka Town, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The numerous high quality sakes brewed using the local soft water including the Sourin Nama, have a refreshing and refined distinctive taste. In the premises there is a whole-sale store and the company’s brand sake and sake-ware are sold. The five-sake set which has five main quality sakes included to compare the taste, is a popular souvenir. The traditional Japanese style restaurant Kappo Shinsuke also operates in a renovated sake cellar.

    事前に調べた結果、賀茂鶴や白牡丹など有名で百貨店でに出ていたりしますが、山陽鶴酒造は百貨店に出ないし好きなにごりがあったので行ってみました。お目当てのお酒はありましたが、試飲するのに有料ですしたね。それも有料という量ではなく試飲程度の量でした。買わないと思われたのでしょうか??お目当てのお酒は好みの味で美味しいのに飲程度の量でお金取るとは…。今回は買いましたが、次回西条に行っても寄らないでしょう。
