    The “Sabuichi Yusui” spring at the foot of Yatsugatake has been chosen as one of Japan’s top 100 springs. Legend has it that back when disputes over water rights were fierce, Sengoku feudal lord Takeda Shingen built a triangular stone pillar over the mouth of the spring so that three villages could split the water evenly.

    三分一湧水の近くにある施設で、観光シーズンだと、そばは昼前から混雑しています。 蕎麦屋の前の駐車場はすぐうまりますが、その奥の駐車場も無料で利用できるので、駐車できないほど混んでいるということはないと思います。

    Kyoto Miyazu-shi Monju Amanohashidate Park

    天橋立駅と傘松公園を結ぶ松並木の途中にあります。天橋立神社の隣にありますが、井戸から水が湧いていませんでした。時期によっては湧いているのかもしれません。

    The waters of this spring well up on the grounds of Otaki Shrine in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Pouring from a trough carved from a log, the waters of the spring are pure and clear and were selected for inclusion in the Japanese Top 100 Famous Water list in 1985 as part of the springs of the plateau at the southern foot of Yatsugatake. Visitors may draw and drink the spring's waters. Around 12° C, the abundant waters of the spring have supported the lives of local residents since ancient times, and even today they are used to irrigate rice paddies and raise rainbow trout. The surrounding area is maintained as a park, and in the spring visitors can enjoy the area's fresh verdure, while in the fall visitors can take in beautiful autumn foliage.

    Located along Prefectural Route 182, nicknamed the “Momiji Road.” Here you can collect water springing from a crack in a boulder associated with the Buddhist deity Fudo Myo-o in a cliff along the Shikoma River, whose source waters are believed to lie in the Himuro Mountains. The waters are said to make tea and rice even more delicious when used to prepare them. The site has a parking area and bathrooms, making it perfect for stopping by along the way to another destination in the area.

    Fountains, known as uchinuki which feed off of Saijo City's underground water reservoir. Good quality spring water which is exposed to pressure wells up through the iron pipes that were driven into the underground reservoir. There are said to be almost 3,000 such springs throughout the city and some 90 thousand tons rush forth on a daily basis. As the water temperature rarely changes, it is used in modern times for a variety of purposes including daily activities, farming irrigation, and manufacturing. It's also famous for its drinkability and earned first place at the 1995 All-Japan Water Tasting event. Many people visit the fountains located on the western side of the Saijo-city Sogobunkakaikan Hall, the Uchinuki park on the left bank of the Kamo River, or the Kamo-jinja Shrine to try the famous water for themselves.

Even today, many people come here to collect water. The springs have also been selected for inclusion in a list of Japan's 100 most famous springs.

    "A 12-minute walk from the south exit of Nishi-Kokubunji Station on the JR Chuo Line and Musashino Line. Visitors can enjoy walking and seasonal scenery in an area which is considered one of Kokubunji's most beautiful. Masugata no Ike Pond Springs was selected for inclusion in the Ministry of the Environment's Top 100 Famous Water list and was also selected for inclusion in a list of the 57 most famous springs areas in Tokyo by the Tokyo metropolitan government. The calla-lilies, which can be seen from the walking path along the stream from spring through early summer, are also a popular sight."

    This is a natural spring in Akanma, Uwa-cho, Seiyo City. About 8,000 tons of water per day bubbles out of a limestone cavern, and many people come to draw water there. The spring has been selected as one of the Top 100Famous Water, and it maintains an average temperature of 14°C year-round. Meisuitei, a restaurant specializing in Nagashi Somen (chilled noodles served in flowing water), operates during the summer and uses water from that spring.

    A park encompassing a famous spring located 50 minutes from the Nagaoka Interchange on the Kan-Etsu Expressway. The park’s spacious, 12-hectare grounds are outfitted with a restaurant, hall, teahouse, and campground. The Todo no Mori spring, which wells up on the park’s grounds, once supported village life, being used for drinking water and irrigation. The spring was selected for inclusion in the Ministry of the Environment’s Top 100 Famous Water list in 1985, and since that time its clear, quality waters have won it much popularity, with an unending stream of visitors making their way here from across the prefecture and beyond. The soft water spring continues to flow regardless of the season, and visitors can take home a bottle filled from the spring year round.

It came to be called the ""gold washing marsh"" (""kanearai no sawa""), which is said to be the source of the name Kanazawa. Nowadays, the spring is famous as a spot with mystical powers, and many tourists visit it along with Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden."

    Selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Springs, the Hakoshima Spring flows through Higashi-Agatsuma Town, Agatsuma County, in Gunma Prefecture. This spring, gushing around the roots of an approximately 400-year-old cedar tree, preserved next to the Hakoshima Fudoson deity, spurts approximately 30,000 tons of spring water per day. The waters are used within the town for drinking, agriculture, and fish farming. The water is so pure that one can enjoy watching the fireflies from June to July on the banks lower stream, Narusawa River.
