    Tokyo Shibuya-ku Jingumae 3-25-12 Fuji Building B1F
A restaurant standing just a five-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Meiji-jingumae Station serving roast beef rice bowls and American beef dishes. The sparsely lit interior creates a chic and subdued atmosphere. The restaurant's famed roast beef rice bowls are so piled high with beef you can't see the rice underneath. The hearty portions and tender meat have ensured their popularity. The steak rice bowls, covered with a special sauce, are particularly recommended.

The food service was so terrible. The steak special bowl has too much fat and bloody. You should eat faster. The eating time was only allowed for 20 minutes. The waitress will ask you to move out...

This long-standing Western restaurant opened in 1956, in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is one of the restaurants said to have devised the Miyazaki’s specialty Chicken Nanban. The restaurant prides itself on its Chicken Nanban, made with tender chicken breast meat, cooked and immediately covered in sweet vinegar and a homemade tartar sauce. Locals and tourists alike line up to buy it. The old-fashioned interior, styled like a Western town restaurant, is also quite appealing.

Visited this restaurant to enjoy the renowned nanban chicken in Miyazaki with my friend. Staff is helpful and service is quick. The location is a bit hard to find but persevere and you’ll be rewarded...

    Osaka Osakashi Chuou-ku Nishishinsaibashi 2-7-27
A venerable “yoshoku” Japanese-style Western restaurant located in Osaka City’s Chuo Ward said to be the originator of omelet rice. It is believed that a dish created for a regular with a weak stomach who always ordered rice and omelets in 1925 became the model for the popular Japanese dish. The restaurant is housed in a tea ceremony house-style purely Japanese building and the omelet rice served here tastes extra special when eaten while seated on a zabuton cushion on the tatami mat floor. In addition to standard ketchup-based omelet rice, the restaurant also serves a wide variety of variations, such as hayashi sauce and beef stew-based versions.

Other popular dishes at Yo-Roppaken include Pari Don (which uses menchi-katsu—a fried cake of minced meat—instead of a pork cutlet) and Shrimp Don. It offers delicious, high-quality steak at reasonable prices, and is popular with both tourists and locals. The interior, which is reminiscent of an American diner, still features the “A Sign” permit awarded to the restaurant during the American Occupation.

I thought it was going to be an American-style steakhouse. However, it was a steakhouse with a Japanese flair and a lot of other menu choices. I chose the tenderloin steak. The meal came with soup...
