This Japanese kappo restaurant is on the Sotobo-Kuroshio Line. They offer seafood dishes such as sashimi and sushi with fresh fish purchased every morning from Ohara Fishing Port, flame-broiled fish, stewed dishes, meal sets, and more. Ohara boasts one of the nation's biggest hauls of Japanese spiny lobster, and the shop has a has a tank dedicated to them. Their Nami-no-Ihachidon seafood rice bowls are limited to 20 servings a day. Only three servings of its special premium version are available daily.

手桶のご飯をいただきました。一つ一つに、丁寧な味付けがされ、帰りに新幹線で食べた弁当とは、雲泥の差でした。ご飯も筍ご飯で、魚の西京焼き、出汁巻き、どれも美味しく頂きました。

To reach Hinode Clam Cuisine, a traditional-style restaurant, visitors to Kuwana should proceed west across Kita Ote Bridge and turn right at the T-intersection. Reservations are required, and the restaurant is open for lunch only on Sundays and a few other days through the year. Founded over 100 years ago, this venerable restaurant has been featured in magazines and other media. Hamaguri clams are a famous product of Kuwana, and Hinode serves many kinds of dishes that feature this shellfish: hamaguri nabe (hot pot) and hamaguri kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant also sells hamaguri nabe gift sets. It also offers seasonal exclusives such as eel and whitefish dishes and sukinabe (hot pot with sliced fish).

Their signature Kinmedai Nitsuke (red bream cooked in soy sauce) uses fish brought in fresh to nearby Shimoda City. The local speciality is the Ise-ebi Wadatsumi Set Meal, featuring locally sourced spiny lobster and marine products, seasonal vegetables, and special suiton (flour dumplings boiled in soup) cooked in a miso base sauce. The restaurant serves monkfish, a delicate variety of seafood whose flavor can easily become off if not extremely fresh, paying great attention to the freshness and preparation methods used. Menu selections include monkfish nabe hotpot, vinegared monkfish, and monkfish sashimi, a particular rarity. The restaurant also serves gozen meals which include dishes like tempura made with natto fermented beans from Mito, and squid and natto; as well as traditional kaiseki course meals made with seasonal ingredients such as Hitachi beef and common orient clams from the Kashima Sea.

The inn offers a wide selection of rooms, from shoin-zukuri style rooms built a hundred years ago to Western style rooms offering excellent rooms to even rooms which allow guests to stay with their pets. Depending on room occupancy, reservations for dinner only are accepted. The inn’s Kyoto style kaiseki course cuisine is truly the taste of tradition.
